I look at each game as 'total play hours of value' not one run through thus i would rate shorter games that I have played 5 or 6 times ahead of huge long games I play once. Having said that you need at least a good base of game play in the 40 hour range.
Do you want 100 hours of content or 60 hours of content?

If the content is distinct enough, a longer game is preferable. If more hours mean more identical levels of some cave, no thank you. It was neat that I could travel around the world in DAO but it was often tedious because a lot of places were kinda same dungeons.
PS:T did this right. There were many different locations with a smaller amount of levels mainly populated with non-aggresive NPCs. DA2 sadly re-used locations however I liked that I didn't spend 90% of time underground.

I'd be happy with 30 hours of gameplay.
Why 30 you ask? Because I can rush through Dragon Age 2, have great gear, be Level 28 and have every sidequest done, and still have 25 hours clocked into the game.
The same thing on Origins brings me in at 22 hours, except I'm usually only Level 23.
For both games, my first playthrough brought me about 30-35 hours, and I'd like to keep that trend going as I replay the living crap out of both games.

I'm fine with longer games insofar as that length doesn't come from excessive padding (i.e. fetch quests, kill X number of enemies, collect X number of items, etc) or map recycling.

60 hours won`t bother me at all, if the game has a very good replay value.
