I've been playing Baldur's Gate 1 for some time now.

After travelling around Sword Coast and Baldur's Gate for several days (in game that is)
I find that I don't know my party members that well.


Sure they make lots of funny quips, mattle cries, amusing banter, and moral assessments on my leadership,

But it's the same dialogue repeated over and over again.
I was wondering if I can trully get to know them like in Mass Effect and Dragon Age series.


I especially want to get to know more about

Minsc and Boo.
His supposed relationship with Dynaheir. I don't even know the nature of their relationship.

Father/daughter, girl friend/ boyfriend, mother/son, husband/wife, brother/sister, or just good friends.


What were they doing before they joind my party?
What are their hopes and dreams for the future?
What incentive do they have to join me?
How has travelling with the main character help them grow as individuals aside from better fighting prowess?
What part of the Realms do they come from?

So many questions I want to ask my party members.

Is there a way to talk to my party members?
Or is that something that appeared in more recent Bioware games?

I am keeping Minsc alive,

Because I hear he is in Baldur's Gate 2.

Do I finally get to talk to him there?

Oh can you romance party members with this "NPC Project"

Why is it called NPC project?

I can play as my party members.
I've spent more time playing as Jaheria than I have Nora Jenkins (who is the main protagonist).

If you don't have Baldur's Gate Trilogy i don't think he needs to even live; also even with BGT you can get him in BG2 if he's kicked out the party (He only doesn't have the same XP as when he finishes whilst in your party)

In the meantime, you can get to know a little more about your pals through their character sheets. I think you click on 'Information" and then 'Biography', or something like that. It then gives you a text screen that tells you a little more about that NPC in the form of a recounted conversation. Each character has only one though, it never changes.

[I'm pretty sure this is BG1 as well as BG2, but I'm not 100%]
