My main reasons are the many flawed choices and forced cameos in da2. Dead characters coming back to life or worse, acting like the choices made in DAO never happened. I would rather see a system that allowed you to re-make the important choices from DAO and DA2 either as a prologue or as in game conversation with NPCs. A few fun unimportant choices would of course not hurt either
Oh and fewer cameos, I rather see quality over quantity.

Agree, I want a way to fuse my DA:O + DA2 savefile with my DA:O-A + Witch Hunt savefile, because my Warden died in DA:O I started a new one in Awakening to keep coherent.Carpe carpio wrote...
I would really prefer to see a way of transferring your choices from da1 and da2 to da 3 without using save games. Maybe I am the only one?

On another, hell no. I will make a DA3 save with all of them, then promptly die because I have 50 million more headcanons to fill out.

nope, saves wont transfer. different game engine.
This has little bearing on whether or not we can import a saved game. Since we know the structure of the savegames, we can have any import process read what we want and then take that data and pass it in to DA3 what it needs to know.
Having said that, as QA I'd love for us to figure out an alternative way to get import data into the game.

How will saves be imported if DA3 is released on the next generation of consoles? And if the warden or hawke make an appearance will their face be transferred?

How would this work on consoles, by the way? There is a new xbox coming out next year or so. Won\\ t importing from 360 to the new one kind of...bring up issues?

The engine doesn't factor into a save transfer/import mechanic.

I imagine transfering saves to the Cloud server might be a way to deal with that.

I'd say it depends on whether you'll be able to transfer data from the "old" XBox to the new one. I'm pretty sure it'll be possible and once the save file is on the other XBox, it should be the same as for any other player or platform since the base file stays the same.Rawgrim wrote...

Also, so far each generation of PS and Xbox has been backwards compatible (at least on some models) and hence has been able to read saves from the previous model. So I would think that wouldn't really be a problem.

How about something like the fan-made save-game generator for DA:O to DA2? You stick your DA:O, DA:A, and DA2 savegames into some sort of program that sorts out the relevant flags for DA3 and puts them all into one file. That file can then be imported into DA3, uploaded to a cloud server, etc. I'm probably oversimplifying this, but it seems to me that it'd be easier to import data if it's all one file rather than multiple savegames. Also less chance of buggy imports.
