A poll is useless, no-one is going to pick "no" to more content.

It also isn't going to sway bioware one way or the other.

Really, no, the toolset was not ''one of the greatest things about DAO'' it was something that like a few thousand people with corset fetish used to give Leliana and Morrigan ''sexy'' outfits, nothing else.

While I AM down with this, toolsets are a significant investment on the part of the devs. If the toolset is going to take up a lot of time, I'd rather they work on the game first and release the toolset after the game.

CDPR waited a year before even anouncing thier toolset for the Witcher 2 all of thier DLC was free but the toolset will still add to the lifespan of a great game.

With respect, I think that's a very misleading characterization of what people in the modding community do.

If "sexy" outfts aren't your thing, that's fine, but there are many different kinds of mods out there – mods that fix bugs in the combat mechanics or dialogue, mods that add new skill sets and abilities, and mods that add new characters, quests, and cut-scenes.

In short, there are many modders who put a lot of effort and creativity into making mods for other players to enjoy, and while you may not personally enjoy what they do, I think that your comment comes across as unnecessarily dismissive of their efforts.

Haha, wow. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

I still continue to play DA:O, and mods are the reason. In all that time, I've actually never even developed or used a single aesthetic mod. They've all been gameplay tweaks that significantly enhanced the game. Also, tens of thousands would be much more accurate.

Not to mention, aren't item DLCs just as frivolous as "sexy" outfit mods? Personally, I've never considered it worth it, but if you're going to criticize modders for that stuff, you should probably criticize the developers just as much, if not moreso.

My main selling point is whether or not this game will have a toolset. The only reason I spent over 1,000 hours in Dragon Age Origins to date was the toolset. After I finished the story (which was wonderfully written, by the way!), I went into the editor and replayed through the game once as almost every single monster, demon, undead in the game with all of their unique weapons and abilities. This brought me a LOT of joy and it was a shame I couldn't do the same thing in Dragon Age II.

If you haven't tried it, you'd be surprised how much different and more fresh a replay of the game feels as, say a dark spawn ogre for example, than as a standard bipedal elf/human/dwarf. Sure it didn't make a whole lot of sense for the story, but that wasn't enough to stop me from enjoying picking up darkspawn and smashing them with my fist. :D Or goring them with my horns.

Hahah, please please PLEASE consider this, Bioware.

Waste of good money..
They should put out something for the console only . Or just give us console players the DLCs and then they can have the toolset..that's fair.

BioWare knows that many gamers want a toolset. They know that modding adds years of life to an RPG, and that players who are playing fan-made content still have the game installed and are therefore far more likely to buy commercial DLC. Baldur's Gate is over a decade old and people are still playing it because people are still making mods for it.This is not news to them.

I wish they would just offer the toolset for sale. Interested parties could buy it, make content, and everybody would be happy. Yes, it does seem strange to ask somebody to pay for the privilege of being creative, but people don't make mods because it's a free hobby. The value of the time they donate far surpasses any price they would realistically charge for the toolset.

Never played baldur's gate...and from the looks of it I never plan to . That looks like something that may give my PC a virus.

Or if they made the toolset free, but found a way to have the mods themselves generate revenue through charging for size requirements and having a registration requirement to play said mods. Sure, it could be hacked, but if you made it easy and cheap (~$1 a mod, less than an iTunes song), it could be a way to recoup expenses.

A supported modkit could do wonders for the fanbase. I'm almost hoping Bioware is purposefully keeping mum about it just to keep expectations low and then surprise us all when we are close to release date.

And if you believe that... I have a bridge I can sell you...

Kind of bringing selfishness to new heights, are we? "If they have something we can't have, then we should get something they can't have." PC users are hardly responsible for the toolset being unsuited for consoles, and while PC users can occasionally get a bit extreme with the expectations on this front it's hardly helpful to provoke platform conflict. We kind of get enough of that, thanks.

Platform conflict  is not what I want David ,and you are right that it's not PC players fault . But I spend my good money just like everyone else and I still get the broken quest and I and to two buy copies of the same game just to try out the toolset. It's still not right .I won't say another word about it .:bandit:

Just deal with it. If a game isn't available for a console, then it's tough luck for you. Each system has its own advantages and disadvantages, it is how it is.

Yeah. That's real easy to say when you don't need to wait on the developement company to fix their game breaking bugs and flags 4 years after release.

What's fair is that you can buy whichever version of the game you prefer. I think a developer should use the strengths of each platform, not limiting the quality of one version so that it's the same as the other version. BioWare kinda did that with the Mass Effect games on PC, but so far the Dragon Age devs did an admirable effort making the games optimal on all platforms.
