Are you effing kidding me with that sh*t???  I really don't want to spend the majority of the game chasing around recruiting people.  This tediousness was predominantly evident in Mass Effect 2.  Why not reduce the number from 10 to 5 and that way it frees up more time to develop other things within the game.  Five is a good number, ten is excessive.

5 former comanions and 5 new companions

Well Bourne what happens if you hate companion 2 and 5?
If this game is going to make you in effect choose sides they need more companions. There is already one rumored companion from the last book that I will be VERY loath to ever let into my pary.

Companions are my favorite part of a Bioware game.  So I'm glad they're upping the number from 7 to 10.  That gives you, likely, 4 warriors, 3 rogues and 3 mages.  They could even design quests where you control two 5-man parties.  In a way, DA2 had nine companions, but I don't consider two of those to be full-on companions.

I'm sorry, did they reveal the number of companions somewhere? Or is 10 just a guess?
