Just a quick qu about the Ultimate Edition of DAO.

Thought I might buy it and see what all the hubub is about it, seeing how much I enjoyed ME.

I see that the UE has all the DLC on it, is that on a disc or does it come with a code for me to download them with. Linked to that does it matter if I buy it second hand, it will still have all the DLC on it?

Thanks.

All the dlc is on the disc, however, and it is a big however, it requires a redeem code to make it playable. A second-hand game will likely have a redeem code that has already been used. Meaning that the person who buy second-hand will not be able to play the dlc.

Short story is to buy new. It is definitely worth the money. And there are some very cool items that come with th dlc.

How would Bioware know that the redeem code had been used if the previous owner didn't have an internet connection? Surely the redeem code can be used as many times as one would like, provided the disc is required to play the game?

Great, just wanted to make a thread like this (didn´t know if this forum was still active though, almost made a thread on the DA2 forums...^^).

So, it does seem every DLC is on the disc, but what about some bonus material etc.? There seem to be quite a few other downloadable items listed on the wiki, are they still downloadable? (I guess they are, but want to make sure....). But they´re probably not even that important for the game itself, I guess ^^

And I wanted to ask if it would make sense to buy the Collector´s edition, for those 3 exclusive items and the DVD? I´m pretty much a newb in this DA Universe, but I guess it´s better to get the Ultimate Edition which is even cheaper and includes all the DLC & the expansion, instead of getting only the vanilla game with the CE, which is more expensive and only has a few extras...

Also, should DA2 be bought as well, even if only to have the "complete series"? I know there´s quite the controversy to the games, but to put this into perspective, I´m one of the people who are pretty much okay with ME3´s endings, even more so after the Extended cut (if some of you guys are familiar with ME, anyway :D).

All the DLCs are included in the Ultimate Edition of the game. The other downloadable items on the wiki such as limited/promotional edition items, etc are exclusive to that particular edition of the game. That said, you don't need these additional add-on items to enjoy the game. The Ultimate Edition gives you every single DLC that is released for the full experience story wise.

If given the choice, the Ultimate Edition is much better than the CE for the reasons you already provided. Not to mention that it includes DA:Awakening which is a good 20+ hours worth of DLC which you won't get with the CE. If you want the complete story, the Ultimate Edition is the way to go.

DA2 is not a bad game if you treat it as a separate game that just happen to be in the same universe as DA:O. Just don't expect the same sort of gameplay and art direction as you would experience in DA:O. Having said that, I wouldn't pay full price for DA2 but would wait till when there is a sale where it is heavily discounted. Its still an inferior product compared to DA:O

Okay, thanks for the reassurance! I´ll probably wait a bit more till I buy DA2, I think I´ll get Baldur's Gate and other classics first!

I just love the squad banter between Morrigan and Alistair, it´s just great! xD
And who would´ve guessed, I wanna get to know Morrigan better, if you know what I mean :D

The world and the story are pretty good, it´s great that there´s so much more of it left!! I´m just ****ty at this tactics based combat -.-" (does the difficulty have any impact on experience gained? Like in ME3 for example?).

Clarification - the PC version has a redeem code the console versions do not
The "dlc" from the console version will work providing the ultimate edition game disc is in the console regardless of whether bought new or second hand.
There is still a redeem code present but that is only for using the blood dragon armour in Mass Effect 2

I have the ultimate edition and no code is needed for the DLC.

Its just needed for the free dragon blood armor, the rest of the DLC needs no code.

Also if you already got the blood armor from another dragon age copy (like I did) it will still be activated when installing the UE.

I recently bought it for the PC on GameStops App. There is a code for all of the DLC. Otherwise it says you have it installed, but its unavailable until it is registered....like here on the social site.
