Many elements that we RPGers have come to expect with our RPGs tended to be both heightened (being able to consistently choose tone in conversations) and tamped down (unable to consistently flesh out your character's uniqueness with detailed responses) in DA2.
I'm honestly flummoxed about this, and can't think of an answer that wouldn't make the dialogue wheel so massive it would be cumbersome to deal with.
I mean, its GREAT to be able to play a sarcastic or aggressive character, but with this system its harder to express other aspects of your character's personality.
Any ideas?
Dialogue choices!

I liked the interrupts in ME2 and its DLC as they really reflected tone of the dialogue. ME3 interrupts all sounded the same. But something like that could help in DA3 if it was done right.

I honestly thought the dialogue wheel in DA2 was a good touch. If they do end up staying on that route, I hope they incorporate interrupts somehow.

I prefer the DAO dialgoue system to the Mass effect one. ME3 had no system as far as i am concerned.

One problem with the Mass Effect conversation system is that the coloring of the dialogue gives u leading cues as to the type of decision and it kinda reduces the fun element, so these decisions should not give u a hint as to whether ur doing the right/wrong thing.

I know they won't change it - but "coloring" or "symbols" in front of dialogue choices kills me.
The only ones that should be given symbols are romance options.
I do hope they have "Interrupts" from ME.

I don't want Mass Effect dialogue. No good choice or bad choice, i want responses like Deus Ex: Human Revolution where you can pick a tone depending on the situation and conversation including sarcasm, cold and callous, rude, polite, curious or cautious.
Expanding on the no good or bad dialogue picks, i want all responses/replies to be ambiguous, and that the only right response is what the player percieves as the correct response.

Yeah, a Deus ex-type system would be pretty great.

Me 2 had a brilliant system for the dialog I think, You kinda know what to expect from the lowest, the highest and the middle alternatives and the text gives a clue to what point you'll make. Also the investigate alternative is good as it puts all the questions you could possibly want to ask under different dialog wheel.

Tone picking from Deus Ex: HR but DA:O style variations available after the tone is picked, and interrupts from ME2. Also neutral interrupts. Not just impale vs kiss, but something like: "Get to the point already" or pulling someone into cover and covering their mouths if you see a small army approaching while she/he is talking to you. Which is neither renegade but not something overly sugar coated
