So, I've been thinking about this for a while now only because I firmly believe that the VAs of our characters especially our protagonist is a huge factor in determining the lasting legacy and following of a game. Like in Mass Effect, Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale gained a massive following and popularity among fans. On the other hand, I'm not seeing that much craze over the VAs of the Hawke protagonists. I'm not saying that they weren't great, in fact... I'm a huge fan of FemHawke's voice. Don't ask me about Male Hawke! It just seems that Meer and Hale were able to deliver that spark that would hold the hearts of fans who yearn to hear them say: "I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite store in the Citadel!"

With that being said, I think that Courtenay Taylor deserves to hold the mantle this time of voicing a protagonist. If you don't know her, she voiced Jack from the Mass Effect series, Heather Poe and Damsel from Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines and will be voicing Ada Wong in the upcoming RE 6 game. I liked the feisty edge she brings whenever she voices a character. Listen to her speak ( I interviewed her, and click the link below if you wanna hear her) and you can definitely see the character in the voice, unlike with other characters... they merely sound like they are talking.

Okay for Male Inquisitor, this is kind of a stretch but bear with me. For now, the man that I think would provide an excellent voice for a protagonist is... Guy Pearce. He's the titular character of Memento and he appeared in The King's Speech and Lockout. I chose him only because whenever I hear his voice, I know it's him right away. It's a voice that you can distinguish and remember. A charactertistic which I find in Mark Meer as well.

Edit: Maybe Nicky Katt could voice Male Inquisitor. He voiced Atton Rand in KOTOR 2

I don't think our player will be called "The Inquisitor"

The Inquisition, as I remember DG saying, was the original name of the Templar Order before they hooked up with the Chantry. And I recall him pondering over the idea of the Inquisition returning now that the Templars have dissolved their relations with the Chantry(Thanks to Lambert).

Also for voice actors, maybe Tony Oliver for the male, and Coleen Clinkenbeard for the female. Both great voice actors in their own right.

Elias Toufexis who voiced Adam Jensen for male inquisitor.

Courtenay Taylor for femInquisitor.

If VA is a must, please limit it to professional industry voice talent. Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale are professional voice actors with years of experience working with BioWare. DA2's MaleHawke had no or little VA experience (at the time), and FemHawke had some but not much. The difference is noticeable.

We need the game to be accessible so...Nolan North it is.

His voice-acthing in Spec-Ops: The Line was amazing. No sarcasm or little jokes like Nathan Drake, he pulled of the professional Delta operator who descends into  a monster constantly engaging in primal violence.

I like your choices. I really do. I completely forgot Elias Toufexis, whom I love very much as Adam Jensen!

Right on. :o

It's important to keep in mind that Meer and Hale voiced three games and several DLCs, while the Hawkes' voice actors only got to do a single game and two DLCs, so that would explain a smaller fanbase.

Laura Fraser will do for my voice, seeing as I'm Scottish, and don't particularly want my character sounding like a bit of posh totty a la DA2.

I don't remember her name, but the woman who voices the Sith Inquisitor in SWTOR would be excellent, in my opinion.

If the game is set in Orlais.... the female lead will likely have a pretty damn sexy French accent.

OMG FEM-QUISITOR.

If we have to have a french accent then I'd like Jean Reno for the male pc and Eva Green for the female.

If not then give me Michael Fassbender in any shape or form. Please!

I liked FemHawke a lot actually.
For DA3 I'd love for the main voice actress to sound... girly? As in, not over the top I'm-a-badass-strong woman. It doesn't have to be incredibly pitchy, just not as deep as Morrigan or FemShep.
But that's probably just me.

Voice protagonist are immersion breaking. I don't want this to go the DA2 direction again. It needs to be saved for the "action" games that don't have role playing in it.

Steve Blum or Johnny Yong Bosch for male.
Kate Higgans or Karen Strassman for female.
Since it's voiceover work, let's use professional voiceactors.

Great! Haha...
It was kind of a game breaker for me in ME, I just can't relate to that kind of voice. I think a girl with a ''soft'' voice can still be a kickass b*tch if I want her to, but the other way around just doesn't work in my head, and I don't always want to ''roleplay'' as badass girls.

Iain Glen for men. Love his voice, and it's very distinctive.

As far as Nicholas Boulton's credentials, I would point out that he had more credits when he worked on DA2 than Mark Meer had when he worked on ME, so it looks like the "difference" one notices in more of a subjective opinion than an objective difference in quality.
