Why does everyone love Crispin Freeman so much?

He is good...but not stupendous. He's kind of like Yuri Loventhal in that way, versatile, but nothing ground-breaking.

Mostly I just have a terrible weak spot for sexy voices.  It's what sold me on Garrus after about two lines of dialogue.  Shallow?  Perhaps, but everyone's got their own tastes

Fair enough. I see Freeman as a companion though, not a player character.

Like I said, I'd be down to have sexy times with his voice

OK, I'll stop with the fangirling now and think of other VAs I'd like to see.  It'd be cool if BioWare could get their hands on more celebrity VAs--Carrie Ann Moss and Martin Sheen did excellent voice work in Mass Effect.  I remember Sean Bean did some VA work for Bethesda in Oblivion--it might be wishful thinking, but I wonder if BioWare could snag him.

For DA3 I'd love for the main voice actress to sound... girly? As in, not over the top I'm-a-badass-strong woman. It doesn't have to be incredibly pitchy, just not as deep as Morrigan or FemShep.
But that's probably just me.

I'd love voice like Morrigan's! Girly voice for protagonist seems just out of place to me.

But why? Generally speaking girls voice are higher than that; I don't know one woman with a voice as deep as Morrigan's. Like I said, it's not that I want a pitchy japanese sounding voice, that would be very annoying, very fast.

I like voices like that:
(carefull, disney song), it's feminine, but it sounds like a woman still, not a young girl.

But well, to each its own :)

ok, I think I know what you have in mind. When you wrote "girly" I thought you'd want something, I don't know, high and sweet. I liked Hawke's voice, so I guess we'd agree on how deep it should be ;) Although I still think Morrign's voice is great :)

Wow you are considerate "I don't like playing as a female so I don't think females should have more voice options, but I like playing as a male so there should be more male voice options."

Let me guess, you think there being "more men playing games" justify's this suggestion to make a franchise promoting equality to start promoting inequalitiy? I don't care I think it's a sexist viewpoint.

Why am I even responding, I'm sure I'm just going to get flamed for responding...But I think bioware should know that fans out there disagree with the attitude that has slowly been "flooding the entertainment industry".  Though due to movies like Hungar Games making tons of money I have no idea why other than people like Rush Limbaugh having hissy fits about feminists being ****s or some other ridiculous hatred like that.

That wasn't what she/he meant.

She/he was saying "I hope male and females have more than one voice."
Don't jump down people's throats like that.

"Hopefully more than one voice for male and one voice for female." In the english language according to proper grammer that means more than one voice for male and only one for for female. If they had said "hopefully more than one voice for male and female" than they would have ment what you thought they ment.
It's astounding that you're trying to discredit my argument by arguing against proper english, but I am not surprised because if you even make a mention about sexism then people think your femin@zi and over the line. Also femin@zi is a term given to us by Rush Limbaugh himself who manages 70 sexist smears against a single woman he disagrees with over 1 show. But Rush Limbaugh can go on all day and make money off of these hateful remarks, and I make a simple comment defending equality in a game and I get jumped on no matter what. It has happened to me before when responding to much more explicit comments geared towards femshep mostly. Also Merril, Jeniffer Hepler, Ashley's voice actress and Miranda have been the target of comments that I have disagreed with and recieved flame for being "uptight" by dare speaking against sexism.

Wrong is wrong, and I depend on proper english to understand what people are saying. So yes I stand by my comment. And I'll "jump" as much as I like, and you might think it extreme but I think a well written argument supporting human rights deserves less flame than hate speech even if many people seem to dissagree. <_<

Um...what?
I never said anything about not supporting women's rights or not supporting proper English.

And frankly, this is coming from a feminist, you are over the line. You are comparing me to Rush Limbaugh, and you're not even using proper English and proper grammar in your argument. Not only do I think your argument is poorly written, I also think you are being very rude.

Proper English or not, I understood what she/he was saying.
I feel that everyone else would agree with me when I say that you are overreacting.

And I believe this is off-topic, so please refrain from continuing this.

I think you are being rude. Even more so than myself. And how is saying that most people would agree with you not putting words in other peoples mouths? My comment was a reaction to how on this site you can make a comment defending equality and get flamed even by supposed feminists as yourself. My comments are not rude. They are tame--I simply dissagree with you. What is it about people thinking if you disagree that means you are rude? It's ridiculous that this much effort is spent on how horrible of a person I am for thinking someone was being sexist and being mistaken even though the persons wording suggested they were being sexist. I was reacting to this, which was not putting words in their mouth. It is what their wording suggested. In fact I am rude for merely pointing out the use of grammer that led me to believe they were being sexist. I use common language on a website and I'm giving a poor argument. The use of the word "and" is the same in common language and proper english. I apologize for saying proper english, I just didn't want to say "english" because I thought it too rude to suggest they couldn't speak their own language and I hate it when people do that. I should have said common english. Then perhaps I wouldn't have given you more reason to hack and slice at me.

Also I wasn't comparing you to Rush Limbaugh. I said "people". That's not you that's a general statement about people. My point was how people can attack women on this site like what happened to Hepler and it's slow moving for anyone to say anything against these attacks. Then I make a comment against what I thought was an unfair suggestion and within seconds I am refuted. This time I was wrong (it's the first time I read the comment wrong in this sort of situation) but most other times I am not and  I am still attacked. I dare you to go on the site and do it yourself and you will see. Maybe you'll spend less time suggesting someone who was mistaken is "going over the line". If I wasn't mistaken I don't think you would have believed I was going over the line. Would you have? If this person said what I though they did?

Also everyone else is managing to stay on topic so I think we are ok.

Her voice is very sexy, can't argue with that. It's just that for ''roleplaying'' with such a voice? I can't picture it, my voice is miles away from that  xD
It's fine for followers and NPCs though.

And I speak french, so maybe my choice of words are confusing sometimes

The bolded are lies and do not in any way represent my beliefs or feelings. Next time you decide to put "words in somebody elses mouth," I suggest you rethink your inclination, because you have done nothing but proven that you are a hateful person. Now after your first flame I corrected my original first line for the benefit of people who may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. This is done.

They are not lies. They are misscommunication. What you said suggested that you thought there should be more than one voice actor for men but only one for women. It's not hateful-- it's a response to that idea. Do you think it's hateful to think that idea is wrong? Even if I missunderstood you am I really a hateful person for believing you were wrong for it? I thought you said only one for women and so I said "let me guess" and gave a common argument made for that sort of suggestion. I am truly sorry I missunderstood you. However, I think this whole dispute has been quite unfair when your wording did insinuate what I thought it did. I don't want you to feel bad about your wording as it happens, but I think it's really unfair how much I am being flamed over this. I didn't call you names or ever call you a hateful person. I am sorry I said these things against you, but I'm not sorry for disputing the idea. I still disagree with the idea even if I did missunderstand that you had this idea. Please know that this is the first time I have made a comment like this and the person actually didn't mean a sexist idea. Truly and honestly everytime before the person actually ment to be sexist and starts flaming me for being a feminist. I am extremly regretful to have made this mistake because my one mistake seems to have discredited me as a person.

Fair enough. I see Freeman as a companion though, not a player character.

I believe Crispin voiced the Male Wizard in Diablo3 to full effect, and I easily considered him to be the best VA of the heroes available.

The man is hugely versatile, capable of bringing to life characters of Charm, Arrogance, Rage, Discipline or Insanity. I feel he's highly underrated as a VA, which I consider to be something of a shame.

I find it odd that Crispin would be considered "companion" material, or any VA would be type-cast to such a role. Though, I suppose I always used to think of Jennifer Hale as nothing but "an extra", now she's known world wide as "protagonist pie", much to my dismay.

Unrelated to Crispin: I would like to see Cam Clarke or Jim Cummings obtain big roles for this title, honestly their greatness is wasted on random encounters and background noise.

Unrelated to the Boys all together: Julianne Grossman is one of my personal favourite VAs and, though I know it will never happen, I would be thrilled if she got the role of Female Inquisitor, or a major companion/NPC.

Honourable mention and prayers to ALL THE GODS: Adam Baldwin would be incredible to have on the cast, in any capacity.

"Seems to have gone over your head." You talk all day about how I should be civil and then you are rude yourself. Besides suggesting I am just stupid for ever making a mistake you don't seem to be even reading what I say.  Nor will you admit that it the wording of the sentence suggested what I pointed out. No you just keep attacking me. I admit my comment originally was snarky and I tried to cool the tension by making a joke about "jumping". But you keep coming at me, and it seems like you aren't even reading what I say despite putting so much effort into reading what this person has said. "...even make a mention about sexism then people think your femin@zi and over the line. Also femin@zi is a term given to us by Rush Limbaugh...". Again I will state that I said people and not you and that I was making a general statement because I was upset about being flamed so fast for what ended up being miscommunication. Have you ever considered that you are the kind of person that reads into what people say and I take things at face value and perhaps that's why you think I am comparing you to Rush Limbaugh (when I wasn't) and I thought this person was being sexist (when they weren't)? I am respondign to the wording and you are to the person's stance as you see it? I was wrong about this person, but you're wrong about me comparing you to Rush Limbaugh so both methods don't have 100% rate of success. We're human we make mistakes. I ranted about him yes (he was in my original post so it was relevant). But I said people. If I wanted to compare him to you I would have said "you think I'm a femin@zi and you are like Rush Limbaugh."  And even with my original semi-snarky comment (first half was snarky) I never called them names or even insinuated they were stupid(they are not). I just insinuated that I thought it was wrong or ridiculous or that it was something unfair that happens often.

But you take no qualms in insinuating I am stupid, or calling me rude. So I am sorry, but I think you are being rude and you are not being civil. I also think you are putting words into peoples mouths inlcuding mine.

I told Miss Infraredman to message me if she wished to respond, but she didn't so I will. My apologies.

Yes I am the inconsiderate one. Only I don't know how to pm on bioware social, so I didn't.

Also what is with calling me a miss? If you spent effort calling the other person he/she why am I automatically a miss? How is that not ment to be demeaning.

Your female avatar pic might be why he called you "miss". Just an observation.

Would it be creepy if it was the voice of somebody who perished in one of the other DA games? I was thinking of a couple of voice actors (npc's) that I enjoyed listening to in the other games and was thinking I might not mind having those voices, but then I was thinking it might feel weird. :) *shivers thinking about it*
