If we get a surname...won\\ t that mean we will be stuck with no choice for pc race?
Will our character have a name?

I like being referred to by a surname as opposed to a title

What I'd like to see would be a naming system like in the Origins - (Aedan) Cousland, (Solona) Amell, (Duran) Aeducan etc.
I would not prefer to be called "Inquisitor" - I just don't like it, but maybe it's not what the PC will be from the start, maybe s/he has to earn the title in the game somehow. I'd like the "common"(=not companion or family) NPCs to call me something simple like Fereldan/Dwarf/Mage/you there (or by a title related to an "occupation" like guardsman/apprentice/lord etc.) or by surname.
But what I'd really love to see would be a special way that would call me my companions - depending on their approval/friendship level like: my love/dear, friend, boss, any number of nicknames (maybe also depending on PC's personality)... occasionally combined with a surname or better yet with a "suggested/iconic" first name (like Elissa/Mariane/Garrett).

I like the idea of being called Inquistor. If you can create your character well enough then the title can come to mean whatever you want it to, just like Warden did. And remeber that in DA:Origin's origin story bit your surname was Cousland if you were a human noble and different if you were another race, but you still get called by a title for most of the game.

I plan on naming him Rudolfo.
in all seriousness, i'm sure it will be inquisitor only.

I've been wondering... Is it possible to use software like Vocaloid to voice any name player will input?

No name + Doesn't talk = Win
"The Inquisitor" is all we need. I really like that as a character title.

He will probably have a surname. I liked Hawke and all but his surname is meh. I hope they use a catchier surname for the inquisitor

I think "Inquisitor" is a badass title and I'd be disappointed if they refered to me by my surname instead.

Inquistor sounds so harsh to me -- I sort of hate the thought of my character being called that throughout the game.
Maybe there can be a mix of surname and title? Surname at least for companions to fall back on and use as they get to know the PC better.

I'd rather have a fixed surname *and* first name than a title. Having friends/your lover refer to you by a title would be worse than Hawke.

Imagine that in heavy "Orlesian" accent

I'd prefer a mixture of both people calling me Inquisitor, and my surname.
I wish that happened in Origins.

he won`t have a name at all. People will just reffer to himher with a 5 second kind of akward pause.
XD or like whenever someone asks the character's name, the character will go like:

I'm fully expecting a return to the title using dialogue of DA:O. The Inquisitor sounds pretty cool if a touch imperious.
I like to think it bodes well to the return of race choice...

Why couldn't all races have the same last name i.e. Awakening (well, one for elves, dwarves and humans). Hawke was a dumb surname, but an easy nick-name. Easier than say, Terry, as a unisex name.
I dunno about being called "Inquisitor" during intimate moments or by friends (at least without some sarcasm)
