The fandom will collectively cry if she ends up not being a companion or a non-romancable companion. Well, I will cry.

But honestly, I'll probably love any female LI they throw at us. As long as they keep the DA 2 approach so I have a choice and aren't stuck with one lesbian LI.

If she does become a companion, then an accompanying romance is basically a given. That said, I wouldn't hold my breath for Cassandra to be a companion - she could end up being a quest-giver or otherwise a prominent figure, in which case a romance would be unlikely.

Regardless, I would be glad to see her return nonetheless.

Maybe. But I liked Isabela in DAO. I just liked her more in DA2.

I like Cassandra's voice, wouldn't mind if they changed the hair.

Chantry association is meh... but then again if I judged Leliana on that then well I would have been a sad panda :P

The only exception for me is Kossith (out of curiosity XD)
But overall, my female protagonist  always go for male =]

Yeah. Chantry thing doesn't bother me that much, unless Cass starts preaching now and then. But I get the feeling she is not exactly that pious and more of a duty/truth seeker persona with an attitude.

I believe the reason some people find Cassandra so fascinating is due in large part to her sporting a less-than-subtle mixture of power and mystery. These are two traits that often result in the audience's curiosity, thus gaining their attention and support despite the apparent obscurity of the personality in question.

Personally, I've always had a thing for women who are mysterious and at the same time possess a sense of untold power - such as Ada Wong (RE) and Xiuying Hong (Shenmue II), to name a few. Cassandra seems to be that kind of character, and I actually look forward to her next appearance. I don't really care if we can romance her as that's not exactly why I'm attracted to her, but it wouldn't be a bad addition.

Honestly, I wasn't crazy about Leliana at first, but her DLC turned me around. I wouldn't be crazy about someone like (a much younger) Elthina, or even Petrice, but so far we haven't seen Cassandra's full feelings about the Maker and the Chantry. If she's open minded and doesn't hate mages irrationally, I would give her a chance.

But just from her appearance in DA2, I like her looks, accent, and demeanor (bossy, no nonsense, not unnecessarily cruel while interrogating Varric...). That may change when/if we meet her again, of course, but out of the characters we met in DA2 who are possibilities as party members and LIs, she stood out the most to me.

She does not hate mages irrationally at the end of the anime movie... if that counts for anything.
