I think going back to DLC characters would be asking for trouble. Look at all the grumbling surrounding the portrayal of Anders in DA2. I still think fresh slating it would be a much better idea.

Ariane was awesome but I agree with Uncanny for the most part. Ariane is the only character I would like to see come back from the DLC's or games.

I don't know, I've definitely gained a taste for elf apostates. Though I always like mages...

You certainly have a point, but I think having old characters thrown in with new ones can give a nice sense of continuity over multiple games. DLC characters are ideal candiadates for this, because we only know little about them and there is still much to explore. I guess it all depends on the opinion you already have of them and it's fairly easy to disappoint expectations.

I'd love to see it, but given how many different ways Bethany can die, it seems unlikely (three total, one just from picking a class... which happened to be the one I picked).

It would be. But it'd make my mage-Hawke-loving self sad if I actually had to play a nonmage in order to romance Bethany in a future game.

 you know theres always Flemeth maybe she brings her back to life in order to try to take her body?

Except she wouldn't be my sister, as my sister's not made up of millions of pixels and binary code.

Lol, I wasn't trying to speak for everyone. It would just be weird romancing her when I played her sister in a different game. It's a bit... squicky for my tastes.

Eh, I never cared for Bethany. I am also near 100% she won't be in DA3 in any significant fashion because she had too many variables to give her a defined role in an import. She could have died in Lothering, the Deep Roads, Templar Tower, joined the Circle (and lived), or become a Warden.
