Quite true. But speculation/wish-fulfilment thread encourages speculation and wish-fulfilment.

I concur.
Bethany is a cool character and all, but once regared  as part of the ''family'', I can't revert my brains to think otherwise. Call it hardcore role-playing.

I like a wide variety of women in real life and in games. If I can enjoy the romances with Viconia, Jaheria, Silk Fox, Leliana, Liara, Miranda, Isabela, and Merrill, you'd have to work hard at a female romantic interest I don't like.

And honestly, I think it's more fun to meet a character, get to know them, and fall for them, than it is to have a preconception of the 'right woman' and ask the developers to cater to it.

I'll second that - Aveline was one of my favorite parts of DA2, and my Hawke was so disappointed to not get the chance to try to woo her.

That's not entirely true. Hawke does get the chance to try and woo Aveline. She just fails.

I am the same and it was great getting to know some of the characters and starting to enjoy interacting with them. But i think it's also fun to talk about what we would like to see and speculate about the possibilities. We will have to wait and see and get to know these new characters, too, regardless wether they are made according to our wishes or not. There is really no harm in getting those wishes out and I know that I will probably  like the romances even if they shouldn't be according to my wishes.

Yeah we're mostly here to speculate. I certainly don't expect my demands to be fulfilled or even satisfy me if they were. I wanted a Dalish f/f romance so badly before DA2 came out but once I actually played the game I prefer the pirate to the elf... Heh.

I don't play male characters, don't like using mods for same sex romances, and I simply don't do romances in games if I don't find the available options appealing. I don't expect to have my specific preferences catered to, but I appreciate the fact that we now have same sex romances at all, and it's interesting to see what other people find attractive, even if I don't share the same opinions.

Considering the types of threads that are being posted on this forum at the moment, this thread is pretty harmless.

I see no real harm in a little speculation either. If some do they're under no obligation to post here. I don't see expressing an opinion as necessarily being the same thing as asking for something specific to be included in the game. Ultimately the devs should create the characters who are right for the game they want to make.

.a warrior who is like xena or callisto someone strong brave maybe a little (or alot) crazy
.someone who's shy and sweet
.someone who's kind of b*tchy and mean
.someone who's mysterious and surprising
.someone who's smart and charismatic
.someone who's fun and creative
.someone who's snarky but dorky
or any combo of those.
did i miss any?

I think I have someone who matches such a combo in mind :
It would be wonderful if Shayle made a come back under her dwarf form. She would make an incredible companion, and an original dwarven LI : Independant and strong-willed, with a good sarcastic sense of humour.
Her background is very rich and serves well her personality.
Each time I replayed DA:O, I was wondering which sort of "Beauty" was hidden in this "Beast's" body of a giant stone teddy-bear!

That's not entirely true. Hawke does get the chance to try and woo Aveline. She just fails.

I didn't learn about that being possible until after my first playthrough was over, although that probably spared my Hawke no small amount of heartache.
