I am in no way trying to call you guys out specifically for it, but I
am asking that you consider what it is you're doing/endorsing if you download and use those types of mods. I would start my own topic, but I'm way too tired to deal with all of the trolling and crap right now, and it would probably end up locked anyway. I have faith that you guys will listen and not troll!

Second. I mean, if you want a fair skinned Izzy, like a dark skinned Anders, then fine, whatever. But the whole bit with people being like "she's more attractive this way" and especially the "she wasn't supposed to be dark skinned, total retcon" (though I'm pretty sure Gaider said the marketing was erronous- she was made fair- and Isabela @ Pearl is totally dark skinned, if you check her .mor file) made me sad.....That kind of "beauty" is so "normalized" like heterosexuality *sigh*
[quote]Anyway, to get back on topic of what we want to see in DA3 ... I love Merrill as a character. Unfortunately, I don't think she did much to make me feel empathy for the plight of Dalish.
Why they are fighting to continue isolating themselves is something that's still a little foggy to me, and I'm hoping for a character who will explain that better.

I understood the whole "isolation" thing, since I come from a culture that tends to do that does that with Americans and other perceived Western types (....rhythms with Malastinian.....) and their reasoning behind it. I guess you have to either be born into it, or talk to someone who lives it, to at least understand their point, even if you still diasgree.
I think the cross-culture thing would have been such a great touch with LIs that didn't happen as much in DAO and I would have thought (the King of Fereldan retains an elven/ dwarven/mage lover.....pass the smelling salts!). Leliana has her ignorant-about-elves bit, and Wynne can comment on the alienage, but I would have thought it would be there, but there are those pesky game limitations, because it is, you know, a game........
I think Merrill was great for conveying such an issue of a "not the same race or something and having a cutural issue with that" lover in DA2, I think you can have a bit with Fenris if he asks if his being an elf bothers you if you flirt with him, but since you are a default human, only 1/2 of the romance options are socially unacceptable (unless you count the possessed mage thing, but I'm thinking specifically race). Again, game mechanics, but it would be cool if they used your companions more in defining Thedas lore.
And good thing that it seems (lore wise) that homosexuality isn't really perceived as "bad," more "impratical," because that's another can of worms that will make me smash my head against many walls.
