As long as the F/F Romance is not there to satisfy straight boys with "virtual dolls" desires, I'm all for it.

Susan Boyle not to your liking then? ;)

Incidentally, having a Qunari as your LI might be a bit awkward:

Protagonist: "Care to join me in my tent?"

Qunari "No."

Protagonist "Want me to join you in your tent?"

Qunari "No."

Protagonist "Sex?"

Qunari "Qunari."

Wait a moment, isn't Qunari sex kinda deadly for humans? Or, at least, probably dangerous AND surely painful?

Now hold on Jonata that's not neccesarily true. Saemus survided.  :P

F/F Qunari romances are on topic. And I suppose the survivability of such interaction would also be on topic.

If there is going to be a F/F romance in DA3 (And if it doesn't, I'll be very disappointed), I hope that the dialogue between the two characters will come off more like real oriented dialogue rather than universal dialogue for both sexes. The romance dialogue from Dragon Age II really felt like it could be used for any sex since none of the characters used gender based words. Yeah. Samantha spoiled me.

I personally want someone along the lines of Traynor from ME3, smart smexy yet exclusively for lady inquisitors.

*Sigh* A guy can dream.

Sorry for this second post.
How about a non-companion LI who is Exclusively F/F and one for guys as well? Mass Effect did it kind of well.

Guys dreaming it are exactly my problem with a smexy F/F Romance.

I'm all for F/F and M/M romances. Let everyone feel the love equally IMO.

I'd like to see a strong woman as LI for a change. Like Aria/Shiala/Vasir/ME1 Ashley, or Aveline/Meredith/Cassandra, to stay in the DA universe. And I'd prefer that all LIs were available regardless of gender; I'm tired of having to cheat to get the LI I want like I had to do in ME2 ;-P

Yeah, even if she wasn't available for a F/F romance, I agree that the Dragon Age Universe need its Jack.

I've watched this Cass-centered Japanese cartoon "Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker" recently. Well, I am sold on Miss Pentaghast and looking forward to potentially f/f romance her in the "Inquisition". ^_^

I kind've get the 'Jack' vibe from the elf girl, at least in that picture that got leaked a while back, and yes the original Jack definitely should've been available for FemShep. I also got (and this was probably just wishful thinking on my part) a little bit of a Neeshka vibe from her as well (for those who don't know, Neeshka was the lone f/f romance option in NWN2, although ironicly that's probably only because they never finished her romance, there was a beginning and sort of an ending, but nothing in the middle, therefore they never had a reason to disable the romance for female characters, so yay for unfinished romances, haha. But she was also the greatest character in the game, hands down, she was one of my all time favorite characters really, so it worked out perfectly that she was romancable, accidentally or otherwise) . I haven't seen Dawn of the Seeker yet, I hope to soon, but I was already sold on Cassandra just from what we got from her in DA2, especially the last part with her and Leliana, I'm sure I'll be even more sold once I finally watch it.

No matter the romance, there's a guy who'll dream about it. Best let it go and just focus on whatever you find sexy.

Why is this a problem? It's just a preference. Don't tell me that you think we actually go around telling lesbian couples that the only good thing that comes out of their relationship is for our amusement. I'm in it because I want the gay characters to succeed and triumph over all obstacles!

I like Jack, but I didn't leave her out of that list by oversight. The ones I mentioned are strong both in personality and physically and give me the feeling that you can throw anything at them and they will handle it. Jack is very aggressive, but her anger is misdirected and she's not as self assured as she'd like others to believe.
That said, I also would like to point out that the LIs we had so far are either rogues, elves, mages or a mix of the above; for variety's sake (certainly not for my own personal benefit :innocent:) I would like to see a warrior this time around in addition to the usual sweet/naive girl we are likely to get.

(I apologize for the mistreatment of the english language in my posts).

It's not about preferences, it's about the "virtual dolls" syndrome I mentioned before. It's not just a problem of the F/F romance, but it kind of gets harder to have a compelling romance when you can't talk about it without straight dudes drooling over the kissing/sex scene between two sexy girls... it drags everything in the "bad taste" territory.

...or maybe I'm just scared about what a videogame fandom can become. Nevermind.

To be perfectly frank, there is always going to be a certain subset of people who objectify such relations. Not pointing fingers here, but it happens.

What I am trying to say is that BioWare can't possibly concern themselves with that. All they can do is attempt to provide content which is both true to and respectful of its intended demographic. And considering Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3, I think that particular matter is in quite good hands.

I wholehartedly agree with the fact that BioWare knows how to handle these kind of things. I'm upset about fans objectifying such relations, but I do believe that the way sexuality is depicted in both the Mass Effect and the Dragon Age franchise is pretty much impeccable and I'm optimistic about DA3 too.

Back on topic: a Warrior class character could be something pretty interesting for a F/F romance, perhaps something along the lines of Ser Cauthrien. I would love to see something like that.

Whats wrong with that? I have nothing against someone enjoying a smexy M/M F/M romance as long as the romance itself is interesting. If someone wants to persue a certain kind of romance just because they have a fetish for that then all the more power to them. Is it a little shallow? Maybe, but that does not mean the person cannot appreciate the romances beyond the fact it is gays or lesbians.

Maybe it just comes down to the way our culture portrays sex but I cant help but notice many people seem personally offended by others sexual fantasys and sexual orientation usually for no better reason then "it makes them uncomfortable" which is not something I ever really understood to be perfectly honest.

Should characters be made exclusively to pander to sexual fantasys? No of course not, and to be fair I think Bioware has put in effort to make the characters much more then that. But that does not mean its wrong for someone to enjoy a good sex scene regardless of whether its a M/M F/M F/F.

And lets be honest gaming can easily be seen as a guilty pleasure itself, why fault others for having different guilty pleasures, they really are not hurting you at all :police:

Throw eggs at me or paint me black and cover in feathers but Qunary female is the last thing I'd like to romance... They scare the sh*t out of me! I don't like being scared when sharing a bed with someone. ;P

Oh, I agree with everything here. I'd really like to see this type of woman as an LI too. Merrill and Leliana were made of sugar, and Isabela was very free and humorous, but I'd love to see a really 'strong', self-assured woman too. Especially if she was quite stoic and focused like Samara. Although I think it was the right choice for her to be unromanceable,  I think a character with her type of personality would be marvellous to romance. Or one like Sigrun. Also tough and focused, but in an easy-going and wry way.

Also, LIs being available to everyone.
