I think there should be a Rosie O'Donnell-like character for the F/F romancers. I think that would be great.
I lol'ed.

was just wondering if anyone's tossed out the idea of a f/f romance with an asexual character? kind of similar to seb's, but without hiding the asexuality behind a bunch of chantry bs?
personally, i think that might be interesting to explore.
(also, please don't run me out on a rail if i'm alone in that!)
Imagine the Merrill, Fenris, or Anders romance, but without any sexy-times.Taint Master wrote...
How do you romance an asexual character?

I actually think that would be quite interesting, if done right.

To do it right would be to not do it at all, since being asexual means that you aren't sexually attracted to either gender.Billea wrote...

Eh, that sounds like just being friendly. If there's no sexual attraction what's the difference?labargegrrrl wrote...

quite easily. flirt, give them flowers, take them out someplace nice once in a while, be supportive when they're going through something rough...click the heart icon a lot...same way you romance anyone.
just b/c someone's asexual doesn't make them aromantic by default.

Can you? I've honestly never seen anything like that IRL. Sexual attraction seems to be the root of romance in my experience.RinjiRenee wrote...

As many have stated above, you can be romantic and not have a desire for physical intimacy. Love doesn't have to always culminate with sex.
I was assuming there was no sexual attraction at all. You're saying there can still be physical intimacy and or sexual attraction, but noPseudocognition wrote...

Is
it so hard to imagine wanting to spend most of your time with a
particular person, share your life with that person, cohabitate with
him/her, show your affection, cuddle (or not), kiss (or not), and give
that relationship "priority", WITHOUT wanting to bone?
A lot of people live that way and are very content.

Ahh ok I gotcha now. I guess I was misinterpreting the term. Still it seems like such an odd concept. If they did go that route I'd hope they include more than 1 option for F/F than that. Some of us would prefer to consummate the relationship! <3Pseudocognition wrote...

Well according to Pseudo's link, even asexual can people feel sexual attraction and arousal... so yeah.RinjiRenee wrote...

For you, that's how it works. That doesn't mean it's how everyone operates.

I don't find the idea particularly interesting, given that it's basically just a normal romance without the sex scene.
Eh, unless the PC spends most of their time at home (which probably would make for a mundane story) you wouldn't get to see them much. NPCs are better left for side flings imo.Celene II wrote...

I want to be able to romance some that is an NPC in your home base. I want to romance someone normal, not a mass murderer with blood covering their body 50% of the time.

If enough of us ask for a Cara-esque character, who knows. Perhaps one day it'll happen. Too late for DA3 if it hasn't happened already, but there's always the future.
