A totally new non companion

I want to be able to romance some that is an NPC in your home base. I want to romance someone normal, not a mass murderer with blood covering their body 50% of the time.

I would actually prefer this to a companion f/f romance myself, but I keep thinking Samantha.

That's actually the only reason I picked Liara instead of Sam in the end, even if Sam was a lot more appealing. I simply didn't feel particularly close to her since she wasn't a companion.
With the others I went through hell on a regular basis, we watched each other's backs, panicked when someone was hurt....I can't feel that connection with someone who I only see at the home base.

But as a fling? Hell yeah, bring it on.

Is it so hard to imagine wanting to spend most of your time with a particular person, share your life with that person, cohabitate with him/her, show your affection, cuddle (or not), kiss (or not), and give that relationship "priority", WITHOUT wanting to bone?

A lot of people live that way and are very content.

And here I thought my marriage collapsed because of me... Now it actually was the LACK of INTIMACY!

Sex is another way of communication. If your words fail to deliver the message, use your tongue and fingers - it rarely fails.

:/ Sex is the whole thing that separates my friends from being my lovers.

So yeah whoever I'm romancing has to be offering that or they're just.... I dunno ...

Sebastian? That was a weird limbo thing.

I actually perfer Sam to Liara, simply because I did not have her as a companion, so It seemed more natural to me than to have a lover come with me on a mission, that and I don't really like Liara as a LI.

this would be really cool, imho.  and would help me, as a player, not feel so uber-protective durring combat.

don't know about anyone else, but i found that when my li's have major enemies target them, or pass out from bloodloss, i go into a bit of a panic.  pathetic, i know, since i knew they'd be fine after the fight.  but it happened to me all the time in both games.  and leaving behind companions i needed just because they were an li, wasn't always an option.

would be nice for the pc to be invovled with someone that didn't stand a high chance of winding up dead.

i only found sebs to be weird b/c he was hiding behind chantry vows.  which felt disingenuine b/c he'd clearly been willing to break them and leave the chantry for other reasons.  it was like either the writers were trying to water down and whitewash an asexual character in order to make the concept more platatable, or like sebs himself couldn't just come out and was trying to use his religion as a sheild?...i dunno.

his romance kind of fell flat for me in the sincerity and honesty department more than anywhere else.

and while i normally find sex to be an important part of my relationships IRL, it's not THE most important part, and not one i couldn't give up for someone i loved.  so for me, an asexual romance is nothing to feel weirded out by, if i feel like that's what's actually happening, and no one's running scared or making excuses like sebs did.

I've just seen Resident Evil Retribution and now I absolutely believe that we need a super-powered Michelle Rodriguez as a companion and a F/F romance option.

I dunno how I feel about an asexual LI. The perv in me always looks forward to the weird puppet gyrations in BioWare's awkwardly animated romance scenes.

Well, I don't mind having one of the antagonists as a sex option. You know... for more drama and intensity.

Man, I've been wishing for something like this in Bioware games since forever.
I have a thing for relationships between 'good' and 'bad' characters. It's just so interesting to see how such a thing can work out.
(Oh Meredith. Image IPB)

That's why I generally go for LIs that are not too fond of the PC in the beginning first. I love the tension. And sometimes, not even that is possible.

Hell yeah. *points unsubtly at her highly tense Cara/Kahlan love/hate relationship signature*

There was something about Meredith that made my ovaries tingle.

And then there was Fight!Sex. ^_^

Now imagine something like this happening between Cass and PC for example. I'd die happy. :D

look, people talk **** all the time about isabella, but I really like her (as a person as well, I mean), and I like being able to have "girly fun" with her as well as "dueling".
that's just the way I roll, ya'll.
So please give her more than a cameo.

So glad I'm not alone in Meredith appreciation. Whenever Hawke had to meet her in her office and she just stood there stocily facing the window... Swoon

I wish there had been an option to glomp Meredith when she was doing that.

A female love interest that doesn't revolve around her sexuality or false masculinity in order to be a strong character. I'd like not to see more of an Isabela type that plays up the sex angle to ridiculous degrees (unless we get to have a male that does the overly sexual thing too- at least spread it around, heh). Also, while I really do love Aveline as a character, and would have been interested in her as an LI as well, she came across as too masculine to the point I could have seen a male in her place and nothing would be different.

Women can be strong without playing up their sexuality to distract and without being overly masculine.

Meredith is a FANTASTIC example of a strong woman that doesn't appear like she was first written for a man to play the role. Had Meredith been a companion, I can seriously see some of my characters truly being interested in her. She is strong, but not mannish, and certainly would never have used sex to get her way.

I have trouble liking Isabela because her sexuality is so in-your-face, and the innuendo (or, actual fact, going by a cutscene with Anders) that she's also got STDs just really.. way to play the stereotype of the loose woman with no morals. Why not laugh it up with a male LI needing to go get his infection cured, instead? Though Seneschal Bran did go see Anders for the same thing, I'll give you that, but he wasn't an LI, so it's not exactly the same.

A woman like Meredith is exactly the kind of female LI I'd like to see.

In short, I found Aveline too stereotypically masculine, Isabela was way to hypersexualised, and Merrill way too childlike to really want to romance any of them. One of my characters did take Aveline's flirt options in one playthrough, simply because he liked pushing her buttons a bit and playing around, since he had a sarcastic personality, but none of my others did (and not because I knew it wouldn't work- I knew that from the start when I read a few blurbs about the characters as I met them in game).

Really, just make a template of Meredith, that'd be a hella fun romance to explore.
