Well, the only squadmate that regulary climbs the ladder from "like" to "dislike" throughout the entire series is Liara.

ME1 - She was fine, I liked her
ME2 - Nope. I disliked the way she got treated by her writer. Not only SHE is the one who recovers Shepard's body, SHE is the one who becomes the Shadow Broker. Her entire character of ME1 got warped.
ME3 - Still pending. She's a bit more like old Liara of ME1, which is good. Her romance arc / character content is an example how other characters should have treated in the third part.

Overall, I dislike less Liara but the way her own writer treated her to make her "omnipresent" in the game.

Besides? I don't have issues. I dislike the way how BW treated Jacob in ME3, but I don't dislike him as character. Same for Ashley: I -hate- what BW had done to her. Any good, redeeming features (like dialogues) got cut, all that's left is a sex'd up Ashley that's talking about Cerberus every single time I click her. Seriously ...

Think that's it. I wonder how long it'll take until this thread gets closed? ;)

I am surprised nobody mentioned Samantha Traynor. Probably because nobody remembers her :) But man it was annoying in every conversation mentioning her incredible skills and smartness. Like Universe would go to hell without her support.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. Also I hate gays and lesbians... I think, that Cortez would much better, if he was a natural familyman with dead wife on the colony...

I've disliked Ashley and Liara since ME1.

I love most ME2 characters except for Miranda. I didn't hate her, she just seemed bland.
Don't care enough for Jacob to have a real opinion.

The Catalyst wins most disliked in ME3 for me.

As far as the squad is concerned I like it, for all the games in trilogy. Random characters on the other hand.. I can't stand the Hanar or Volus characters as a whole (with the exception of the Biotic God), I just find them annoying as hell. Hanar sounds mentally challenged and are simply too stupid to comprehend, and the Volus sounds like they just finished a freakin' marathon prior to speaking.

While both of these races were probably made the way they are for comic relief, I just.. They annoy me =P

I don't really think I truly "hated" any character...

...but the closest to that would be Jacob.

Really?

I found her to be one of the best characters in ME3.

Funny. I like her. I liked her voice, her accent ... too bad she was not open for my manly Shepard *g*

Nah, seriously. I like her. She is a great addition to the crew. Tbh, I liked her much more than "I-love-every-gender-and-species"-Kelly. She was nice too, but Traynor is better imho.

Very few! I think most of the characters I hated were characters I was meant to hate. Udina, Kai Leng, Administrator Anoleis. The haughty asari in the hot labs on Noveria... was she the indoctrinated agent? Found her thoroughly irritating. And Khalisa, whose name I'm not going to pretend I know how to spell, but I'd guess it's Bint-Sinan Al-Jalili. Again, punching her is an excellent moment.

Er, who else? Dalatrass Linron if Wrex is alive. Was it Garm who shot that vorcha's head off? I don't know, most of the characters I don't like have renegade interrupts associated with them. Kai Leng really gets on my wick, running away all the time, but that's the whole point.

I suppose there are a couple of characters I never quite bonded with but feel like I was meant to. Samara, I never grew close to. Jacob, too. But the biggest offender, probably, is the Virmire Survivor, as of Mass Effect 3. By the time Ashley and Kaidan decide that, actually, they're ready to join my crew, I've pretty much moved on. I'm too happy with the new crew to care. It's not so much about the timing - overjoyed to see Tali again directly after - it's that after a game and a half of barely-concealed suspicion, I can barely remember being mates with them. That was on the first Normandy. That was the XO Pressly era! Too little, too late. When I confront them, they don't feel like squadmates any more. They're just people from the first game. Characters I used to know.

Thane. Ugh, I couldn't stand having to talk with him. Thank the maker that Feron didn't have any Drell flashbacks when you spoke to him.

She's omni-present because she's the only squadmate who's guaranteed alive since the start.

James you don't have history with, EDI only joined in the second game, Garrus and Tali can be dead, and the writers don't know who your Virmire survivor is. I'm cool with Liara, but she's not my favourite character so I can understand the frustration. Necessary evil, though. She's the only squadmate from the first game guaranteed alive at all.

I think it's the "Shadow Broker" deal that made me disliking the way how Liara got treated. Seriously - everything else makes sense, can be explained, even the rescue part if Liara was NO LI. But the SB part?

That's the biggie.

In ME3 things like the "time capsule" scene should have been a "romantic moment" for Liara fans - and not accessible by others.

The Catalyst and Kai Leng. Both were scenario breaking.

Cook Gardner - I can't stand him;
Diana Allers - better, but still bad;
Jacob - not that bad, just something is off with him

Really. I did not care much for Kelly, but at least I _was able_ not to care. While with Trainor the only conversational option I had was "you are the best! I am so happy you are with me!" Well, I was not and could not get rid of that annoyance. They had to leave the option to replace her with Kelly, like with Dr. Michell.

Well... obviously the Council, but I didn't like Kaidan too much. Sure he was honorable, but he sure was whiny. I wish I could've had the option to smack him a couple times.

Traynor was another one. I feel she was made out to be more important than she was.

Udina was another obvious one, but he was a politician, so it was natural he would be a shmuck.

I also didn't like Liara. She was too forced in ME3. In ME1, she was sort of cute and naive, but she suddenly began this contort literary figure. She felt like a box, intended to carry all the crap the writers wanted her too. I feel her true character was lost.
