I haven't seen any of the other Nihlus-related media, but I spent the whole first game expecting him to return-buildup right from the game start, off-screen death...I totally expected him to be working with Saren or something.

Hated:
Liara - This obnoxious bint should be thrown out an airlock. Her voice contained zero emotion, and she had zero relateability. And her voice sounds like she's constantly gasping.
Miranda - Could you hang on to your ****ing sister for five ****ing minutes without me? I can tell you're a genetic construct because you have no humanity. You just have almost-emotions, and I almost care.
Jacob - This one I can't pin down. I just know I don't like anything about him. I don't like his ethics, his logic, his history, or his motives.
Ashley - All you need to know is that I watched the youtube cutscene of Eva smashing her head in about 5 times.
Starbrat - Because Starbrat.

Favourites:
Mordin - Deepest character, most intriguing story, funnest to talk to, and a Damn Good Man.
Thane - I liked Thane the instant I met him, why? Because he's a badass. I loved his character, and he was a badass.
Jack - She blew **** up quite effectively. And that's a campaign I can get behind.
Legion - Because that robot had more personality than a lot of others I could name (Liara).

And call me crazy but TIM was a guy I loved to hate.

Allers is the only character I hate in the entire series. She's about as pointless as a character gets, and if it wasn't for the fact that she's a war asset I wouldn't even bother inviting her on the Normandy. Not to mention her being engaged to somebody makes it awkward to romance her, so that "perk" is out.

Diana Allers
Liara T'Soni - liked her in ME1 and ME2, but there is too many of her in ME3....
Kai Leng (In Karpyshin's books he was better)
Illusive Man (In ME2 he was a badass, in ME3 crazy idiot)
Tali (I can't stand of crying babies at war - for all period of trilogy she doesn't get older - stills little girl)
Salarian Dalatress - I want to kill her, she was trying make me to fail Wrex and Krogans...
Udina - in ME1 he was much better.

Favorites:
Kel'Reegar - Thank's to BioWare stupidity - they have killed him...
Emily Wong - the same as Kel'Reegar
Mordin - (I remember, In Leaked beta was a text, telling us, that we can send EDI to him for help - he and she'll made it alive) DEAD again
Thane - as I remember, BW promised us missions with temporary teammates and as an example they told about mission with saving hanar scientists and meeting with him. At the final we might to cure him. DEAD again.
Legion - DEAD again. Legion, Mordin and Thane need more content.
Garrus - nice friend. Needs more content.
Ashley - she always has her own point of view. Needs more content. (Me only LI)
Javic - badass prothean? I like it.
Vega - nice guy. Needs mor content.
Wrex and Grunt - I have always loved them.
Anderson - Shepard's "father in law" and mentor. I need him alive.

I didn't like/loathed:

Udina - wonder why.
Jacob - omg, the convos were like stabbing my eyes with a fork.
Zaeed - just, ugh.
Starbrat - need I say anything?
Ashley- only in ME3.
Jacob's father - even worse than Jocob.
Annoying news reporter girl/woman/thing with the weird last name. What's her face...

Found annoying, but ok-ish.
Ashley - Liked in ME1, hated her with a passion in ME3.
Thane - He was cool, but his vision things kinda creeped me out.
Diana Allers - Never had a problem with her, but failed to understand her purpose.
Wrex - *shrug*

Top ultimate favorites:
Kaidan - Fantastic character, love him to death. He would make the best friend/father in the world.
Garrus - Super cool, with me from the start to end.
Kasumi - Heck yeaah! I find her attraction to Jacob to be rather annoying though. Really, Kasumi? Why?
Miranda -
Liara - Was a great person to have around. Great support and good friend.

Kaiden is the only squadmate for whom I never, ever, ever gave one ****. He never compelled me enough to warrant chatting with him more than I had to, and didn't interest me enough to warrant going through my one Shepard who left him alive in ME3 just to see what he did different from Ash.

Aside from that, ME2 Jack was a walking stereotype who I could predict before I even bought the game (she grew on me in ME3). EDI's sexified body in ME3 made me like her a lot less. And Allers was a dumb addition to begin with. Past that, I cared for every character in every game, which is an accomplishment in of itself.

I completely dismissed the original Mass Effect after watching my ex play through Eden Prime as default John Shepard.... I found him to be somehow almost as dull and boring as Master Chief. If I had not given ME1 a second chance months later as FemShep I would have never become the diehard fan I am today.

OP, you should specify on whether you mean if we liked the character from a story-perspective, or if we liked how the character was written.

It's possible to have a well written tasteless ass, and so you should specify on what kind of perspective you're asking us about.

From a writing perspective, there's three characters I dislike:
- Kai Leng:
Cyborg Magic ninja. In space. Seriously? He had a good voice actor, his role was acceptable, but his character concept was dreadful!
- Diana Allers:
Mainly due to the terrible voice acting.
- Casper the Ghost, God Child etc.
One of the worst and most notorious plot twists in modern gaming history. It was completely unecessary as well. If he was simply removed from the ending, it wouldn't even be noticed. In fact, the ending would actually IMPROVE!

I wouldn't go as far as to say I hate any of the characters, but I really dislike Liara. I find her voice flat and lifeless, and in general she's just a bit creepy throughout all three games. Nothing about her compelled me to like her character at all.

Allers is a given, as well.
