In DA:O we had "The Pearl" and in DA2 we had "The Blooming Rose", so what will be next?

Isabela gave a good idea in DA2 with "The Bone Pit" lol

I kind of hope they ditch brothels in the next game. I just don't see the point.

Mind you, I actuall like the ambient chatter in the Blooming Rose — it was very funny — but you could switch out the brothel for, say, an opera house and accomplish the same thing.

They should make it a bit more warn down than in the previous games, they kinda make the brothels seam like the nicest and safest places to be in... And while we're on that topic, DA have always been adult rated, why shy away from nudity? Compared to Whitcher 2 even the sex scenes are pretty innocent. Take some chances BW! Your fans can handle it!

Good point with all of the stuff that goes down in the witcher 2's brothel in the first town is more among the lines of dark fantasy.

I honestly gave up on Dragon Age being a dark fantasy world a long time ago the Witcher series has been providing that dark netural path possible atmosphere just fine.

I agree that it would be interesting to trade a brothel for something other common meeting place. I like the opera house idea. Seems like something Orlais would have.

Brothels. Taverns. Inns. I want them all. And I want them to be places where stuff happens. Barfight. A hooker fight? Shifty characters abound. Opportunities to get good intel.

Have a drink by the fire. (I love fire places). Maybe let the PC get drunk? I remember in Saints Row 2--there was this one mission where--something happened to my PC that got them all..lit up. The bad guys got my PC...lit up.

The thing is my PC had to then escape the clutches of these bad guys. Shooting. Driving. Ugh! Lol. Every thing was swirly. And all my PC said was,"This is a bad time to be effd up."

I'm thinking, yeah, no doubt!

I'd also like the chance for my PC to be able to sit down. Sit down whenever they want. It's not important, but I'd like that.

Oh, and I'd also like these places to be a bit more intimidating. Not all of them. Heck, you need respite sometimes. But some places I want to feel uneasy. Like I could be robbed, or jumped.

Well, I thought the thread was funny, OP!

I hadn't really thought about "the" brothel being a running joke in DA until this thread, but you're totally right. Same thing with the bars, though. I thought The Spoiled Princess in Origins was great, but the Hanged Man joke was done to death (err, no pun intended?) in 2.

Sadly, Isabella already gave away some really good ideas in DA2...let's see..."Le Petit Chou" is a common, old schoolish French petname, even if it is weird. Or maybe The Gilded Lily, lol.
