I think the thing that bother me the most is the subtitle being absent for DA 2.

Dragon Age: Origins

Dragon Age 2

Dragon Age 3: Inquisition

Can we come up with a subname for DA 2 now?

The composer, Inon Zur, called it Dragon Age: Exodus in an interview. I guess that was the working title.

The only aspect about the name that bugs me about the title is that it's Inquisition and not Inquisitor. I know the title is referring to the group within the game's plot, but Inquisitor sounds a lot more bad-A and reflects on the title of the character, which would tie back to Origins reflecting on the character origin system.
Assuming we become a member of the jolly Inquisition.

I think the subtitle is unnecessary but at least it's not one of the "R's"....

You know, Retribution, Revolution, Resurrection, Redemption, etc.

Well as DA2:Ander's Folly comes to a close War has been declared by the Divine on the Mage's and she summon's the Inquisition to hunt down an eradicate all mage's thus ending the time of magic. In my opinion from the ending of DA2 the way i read it. So I can see why it's called Inquisition.

Could just call it "Inquisish", unless that's too camp for your tastes..

It's a title with four syllabels in it.  Everyone wil stil refer to it as DA "3".   You still have a year to change it to three or less syllables.

Glad to help you out here.

This is a lot like the serious discussion that someone posted about how a credible fantasy world shouldn't have so many places with the letter 'r' in the name.

I think Dragon Age: Inquisition has a good ring to it. However, I would like to see them seriously drop the "3" from the game title. I seem to remember that by Bioware's own admission, calling the second game Dragon Age 2 was a big mistake as it led to too many expectations of the game being along similar lines to DA:O.

So lets just drop the "3" this time and just go with the nice sub-title instead!

Should've just gone with Dragon Age: Inquisition, instead of including a number in there again.

So we're already at the point of discussing the NAME and it's still at least a year till the release...oh god.
What manner of topics will come up when the people get bored?

I thought the subtitle to DA2 was "Rise to Power," no?

Anyhow, big words are hard, guys! Why not just go with "Dragon Age: AGAIN!"

The only problem I have with that name are the constant refrences to the Monty Python sketch. I laughed yesterday and made my jokes about Fang and Biggles....but when I think about the months to come until release....

I can't say I didn't expected this though when I heard the title the first time...

I don't like Inquisition,it's too generic and reminds me too much of Risen...
I'd much prefer Apocrypha(!) or maybe the Breach.

Anyway who cares about the name all that matters is the game :)

Of course, since the subtitle is inquisition, could just shorten it as DA:?

That was the actual title.

The name sounds cool to me, though I'll likely be referring to it in general conversation as da3. It's just easier to say.

"Inquisition" is very fitting, I think. And it actually makes the game sound even cooler :3

Eh, it's fine in my eyes. Think of the Elder Scrolls series. Doesn anyone refer to "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" by it's full name?

I kind of think it is more liek this. People will likely either come to call it "Inquisition" (teh way they call Elder Scrolls Skyrim) or they'll call it DA3.

Not that either way is better than the other. It is the same game.

I think that most of those who have been on these forums for the past year will probably continue to call it "DA3" since there have been continual discussions using that name. Those new players, or those returning to the forums with the recent title announcement might call it "DAI" or "Inquisition."

But as you say, it's all the same game XD.
