Anyway, a friend and I have spent a lot of time figuring out the truth behind what's going on with the single player storyline. We did figure it out (and wow, it's not what most people think), but that's not the point of this topic.
In the process of figuring out the SP storyline, we concluded/realized that lore-wise, MP is not actually taking place in "reality" within the ME universe.
It's a simulator.
Yeah, this isn't a joke, or a troll topic. MP is a simulator. Anyone who is aware of the ME1 Pinnacle Station DLC should be familiar with the fact that these simulators do exist in the ME universe (in fact, every single DLC in the ME trilogy contains clues as to the truth behind ME3). Why has BW not been up front about this? Well, let's just say it has something to do with what's going on behind the scenes with single player. And again, it isn't what most people think. But that's a story for another day, and another thread.
So what does this mean? Well, it means that once BW reveals the fact that it's a simulator, the possibilities are endless. Enemy factions, weapons, characters/kits, everything is fair game for BW to do with as they please (or as we please, if they really are basing content on our feedback like they say they are). Protheans? Sure, why not. Collectors as an enemy faction? Heck with it, toss them in there too!
Exciting stuff. Believe it or not, that's your choice. But to quote the Leviat…..err… the Catalyst….
Your belief is not required.
