Hey all,

I was just wondering if there are any Irish MP players in the community?  Every time I log on, I rarely - if ever - get people in the same timezone as me.  And the fact that most of them list their language as 'English (United States)' isn't a help either! Image IPB

So if there are any Irish MP Players on PSN, drop me a line.  I'd love to hear from you.

You should change your name to Poguefan. It would be a better fit...

I would.  But I don't like the Pogues.

There are quite a few of us on the boards but I don't know who is on PSN- why don't you just look for GMT players? Most of the people I play with regularly are in the UK and I don't have any major connection/lag issues with them.

Most of the groups here (like *cough* Bronze Effect *cough*) will have threads where people list their platform and timezone to make it easier to find people that suit you.

Then that's not 'Celtic dialogue'- in Irish it's "póg"

Yeah, but they might make you change it... So phonetics might be a better option...

LOL at that!  Seriously though - I've been playing for a few weeks now, and I don't think I've ever met any Irish MP Players.

Don't get me wrong though - I'm not complaining.  If anything, I've found the community to be very good.  I've only ever been kicked out of a session once - it was a Gold session I accidentally dropped into and promptly kept dying!

But it'd be nice to meet other Irish members of the community.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me.

I list my language as "English(United States)"... if that helps.

I'm in CST, so I do play with UK and Irish a lot, only because I play late at night and in the morning. I work afternoons(BSN at work right now!). Occasionally I will get an Aussie, and I always seem to find a way to insult them. Must be my dynamic personality...

No probs.
If you haven't been playing that long then definitely drop by Bronze Effect- there are some absolutely adorable PSNers there (though I'm not sure how many are GMT/CET), and people play from Bronze through to Platinum so it's good for making the transitions between difficulties!

There was a thread last week about where people are playing MP from, and there were a good few Irish people there, let me see if I can track it down.

(I know there's someone active on the boards called 'Geimhridh' but I don't think they're Irish. Have always wondered about the name, though).

I'm reading this thread in a sort of Northern Irish accent.

It's quite fun.

I'm Irish. I've been teamed with a few Irish in the lobby. Mostly at the weekend.

Just joined, and punched in my data.  Thanks for the late later on in the discussion.  I'll be sure to check it out.

BTW, my language is listed as 'English (UK)', as there's no option availabe for Ireland.

Even in 2012 discrimination still exists!

Eh, that's what it is on most things, what can you do? It's mostly the same language so it doesn't make too much of a difference

What about if I'm half Irish, have family in Ireland, and have an Irish passport, but was was born and live in Canada? Does that count?..:P

Also my favorite tongue twister is "Irish Wrist watch"
