And we've had a few that were close, like Justice or Fenris whose abilities are like that of Templars.
And Carver is a Templar on one path. Not a full companion, but he is a companion.
I imagine that we're going to get Cullen as a companion, but I dunno... I'd prefer the Lake Calenhad Templar that fought any enemies that were there with his fists.
I want a darkspawn companion. I'm actually quite serious.
Seconded.

Yea, it seems like it. Maybe we'll get two templars..... and a blood mage for good measure. You know, just to keep the party banter intreasting. =3

Ooh! COOKIES!
Sten: I stole them from a fat boy who didn't need them.

Not that one. This is a guy who's kneeling and praying for the lives of all of the Mages and Templars lost in what happened after the quest is done.

But the one I quoted was so much fun. I would like to see the Templar you mentioned as well, but I wouldn't mind a fanatic that I can talk circles around, make fun of, and have him not know of it.

Personally, compared to Cullen for example, I never took his opinion about mages seriously.

This. I'm over the one dimensional characters, if there's a character that happens to have more than a single opinion or life event they want to share with me, they can be a Cow-Bell Toating Ogre for all I care. I will sing their praises until i'm blue in the face.As long as he doesn't constantly whine about how evil mages are over and over, then yeah I would love one.
Just please, give me something good to work with this time around.

She's a Seeker, which I guess is a different faction technically. She still has Templar ideals/abilities though.

What about one that just suddenly kills a mage during a conversation?

If the mage is an ass, then sure.
