A face code would be cool, so that we can reuse previous custom faces without going through the hassle of trying to recreate them. Aside from that:
Fancier/more hairstyles (if long hair is still impossible due to clipping, then prettier up-styles) Freckles/moles/beauty spots/scars
Facial/ear piercings
More makeup options
More makeup colours (the black eyeshadow option looked blue-ish grey)
Advanced facial feature customisation
Darker black hair (because the black in DA2 looked dark brown)
More shades/tones of hair colour
More skin tones
Body tattoos (if possible)
The option to get our character to pull faces in the character creator so that we can see if he/she will look derpy.

I would also like to see some more variety in hair colors. I want to have a very dark blue haired protagonist in a DA game!
I'd also love to have more options for eye colors as well. Scars for the arms, legs and torsos would also be appreciated and a wider variety of tattoos. That's my wishlist.

1) Sliders that work well with your mouse. (Perhaps toggle buttons. Just don't want carpal tunnel from using the CC.)
2) CC before the game begins, not after 20-30 minutes of intro/tutorial. Pretty please.
Everyone else has made lovely suggestions for what should go in to the CC (more hair styles, better colors, scars, moles, freckles, jewelry, body shape....). It's all good!

Also, if we're getting something like the dialouge wheel in DA2, can we get a character personality preset to start off with tone or something? IE if I want to play a mage that was raised by kind and caring templars, that character might be more friendly to the templar cause than say...a hedge wizard or someone like Morigan. Even if its a second play thoguh unlockable type deal. Something that lets up chose how our character reacts to various factions like a slide so you choose between mage/templar to start with or tevinter/Qunari. (defaults would be neutral area most of the time)

The first of the three being the most important. It bothered me ever since DA:O. Everybodies' body looking the same. It'd especially be nice to see an elf who looks like he physically phit (nothing too over the top like M!Hawke, but something between him and Fenris would be nice.
And even if you guys can't do the sliders for the wieght height muscle mass thing, at least give us different defaults for body types.
hope you guys are looking at this thread. K thnx

I'd also like longer hair, nicer looking/more realistic hair, and atleast 1 curly hairstyle. More colours would be nice too. I'd be thrilled with any other increases in customisation but those are things I'd particularily like.

For tattoos: especially in the single player part of the game, allow custom tattoos. Let us import a PNG file or something.. Allow us to place our tattoos anywhere, resize them, etc.
Add in-game tattoo parlors to add MORE tattoos. Not replace any, but simply add more! Removal of a tattoo should only be available through a magician or something, come at a steep price, and, if used, should remove ALL tattoos. If you don't like 1 tattoo, then paint another on top of it, or have all your tattoos removed and start from scratch.
There are software tricks to merge textures of different size into one, which can then be applied as a tattoo, so why not use it?

The body types/sliders sound like a good idea.
Maybe the slider like in TES: Oblivion to make your current hair longer? Just to go along with the slider thing.
Also, can i get a female PC face to work with that doesn't look like dough/that takes an hour to make non-ugly? Is it so hard to ask for a pretty yet battle scared woman or SOMETHING like that as my PC <

Things I don't think were said enough:
- The ability to change facial structure. If you go into the CC for DA2, you can make a face you think looks good from the front -- and then if you turn to your character's profile, it looks mushy and there is nothing you can do to change it. Even if you try for hours. The only Lady Hawke face that doesn't look like that is the preset Marian face, which isn't my cup of tea. So, the ability to actually change the facial structure of faces, like you can in the DAO Toolset, would be very appreciated.
- More hair. And by that, I don't just mean more-of-the-same. If my character is Orlesian, I want to be able to have her wear fancy-shmancy (relatively speaking) hairstyles in the Orlesian fashion. We hear Leliana talk about the elaborate Orlesian hairstyles -- I want to be able to play a lore-friendly character that can be fashion forward, who cares about those sorts of things. So, I'd really appreciate the option to not just have utilitarian, close-cropped hairstyles -- but more "feminine" ones as well. Even if you don't want to make them longer (woe!) because of clipping, you can always give the illusion of a lot of hair, but keep it piled on top in braids or a bun or a ponytail or something. Just... pretty hair. I want pretty hair. I don't know what the deal was with the DA2 hair, but just... nope.
- Lots of sliders. You know, more along the lines of the Toolset -- but better than the Toolset. Upper lip height, bottom lip fatness, eyebrow rotation, iris size, ear length... etc. Just all kinds of sliders that help to make unique characters, characters completely different in appearance for completely different playthroughs. Like APB? People keep suggesting Dragon's Dogma? I really, really, really love character customization, so.
- I know this probably isn't the right place for this, and I do know that everyone else has said stuff like this... but Fen'Harel, do I want to be an elf again. Or a dwarf. Or Kossith. Or, at the very least, be able to pick backgrounds for your human character, because I felt like DA2 barely had any replayability at all -- the Hawke storyline wasn't my favorite (she never felt like my character -- she felt like someone else's), and I would have loved to play DA2 from different viewpoints... alas. Anyway, being an elf would be GREAT. Or something that's not human. Choices.
- One person did say this, but I'd really love to make characters BEFORE the game really starts. No tutorials before I can make my character. That was.. jarring. I didn't like seeing Marian before I made my character who looks nothing like her.
- Anyway, I know a lot of people want to play more muscley, fierce female characters. I'd like to represent the side who, sure, would love to play girls like that, but who would also really love to play girls who like pretty clothes that flaunt their boobs or who have pretty hair or who are pretty vain. I just want to play whatever character I want to play, I guess -- I don't want to be tied down by gross limitations, by options that only present one option for the PC.

I guess if armor becomes more customizable as well then we could wear plate that doesn't quite cover the full arm allowing the tattoo to be seen then.
Face customization, the simpler the better, I find spending more than 2 minutes on a face to be quite boring.

I would like to adjust the player character's height and body frame
So much this.
Don't go as far as Saints Row: The Third, but at least allow us to go slightly smaller (with less muscle) and slightly bigger (with more muscle) than default.

And on that vein, let us tweak the default face, or at least don't pointlessly restrict access to the stuff used to make it.

They often allow for the light blue or violet eyes - but the skin tones are always WAY too pigmented.

Edit: Also forgot, the waiting room or whatever it is where you create the face should have in game lighting and sample facial movement. I made a guy that looked all cool and stuff and in game he looked like he didn't understand what people were saying the whole game. Droopy dork face.

Body build / fitness slider for male and female characters.
I want to finally be able to create a plausible looking female warrior in an RPG, a character that looks like she is physically able to swing heavy meele weapons into her opponents faces.
No more noodle armed scrawny catwalk models, I beg you!
And I'd also like to be able to create a male mage that does not look like freakin' Conan the barbarian on roids swinging a mage staff.
Noodle-armed scrawny female fighters and body builder meathead mages are such immersion breakers, I'm so sick of that.
More short hair styles for BOTH genders.
I'm absolutely fine with those who want to create characters that look like super models with flowing hair etc., hey, its fantasy after all - but for those who want to create more believable warrior / barbarian etc. characters include more short hairstyles for both genders, don't just fully focus on long hair, ok?
Not a big deal to make and a feature thats rather easy to implement, so why not?
More voice options.
I loathed male Hawkes cringeworthy voice and I could neither disable his voice nor simply select a different one. It made conversations a torture for me.
Yes I know, thats a lot to ask for since you (BW) have choosen to use a fully voiced protagonist with thousands of spoken lines in the games, but is it not possible to simply give us the option to disable his/her voice with sub titles?
Tattoos, scars etc. Nuff said.
Better beards.
The beards in DA2, Bioware, what the hell? They looked like they were painted on with a 2'' wide brush - but I guess thats not going to be a problem with the new engine you are using for DAI.
