I'd also like more ethnic hair for darker skinned characters, Afro-Caribbean and dreads would be good. A wider range of shorter hair styles for both genders.

No “default face” for the protagonist, aka No exclusive hair/beard/textures etc... No "default Shepard" or "default Hawke", male or female. Bottom line, make EVERYTHING equally customizable and make it possible for the player to tweak all aspects of the default Protagonist if you really feel that you need to have a poster-character. Mods made it possible for me to get default Hawke's hair after a while, but please, let me use that from the very begining. Not doing so when the models and textures are already in the game just seems really odd.
I agree on this. Dragon's Dogma had a default character face for both male and female (and one that was used in promotional images and trailers for the game) and yet allowed us to completely customize the face and change it within the game. We could also use the "default" hair.

Look at few inches to the right of this text, at the top of the page. See that guy? That's Commander Shepard. You know that, because he has a distinct face, and they have marketed the hell out him. Could you identify Hawke at first glance? Of course. Iconic characters are a very important part of marketing. Now... Could you identify the Warden at first glance? Impossible, since there's no "deafult" or "canon" appearance. "Canon" appearance is here to stay, and will likely become MORE prevalent.
That said, I still see no reason why we can't use parts from those characters in our custom character. Why can't my dude have a blonde Hawke beard, or whatever? So on that point, yeah, I agree with you.

- Add scars.
- Add more haircolors. I would like to have hair where just some of the hair has started to turn gray.
- Add more hair styles. More is always better.
- Don't make hair styles exclusive to gender. It would give a sense of more variety for little production cost, and if I want to make a tomboy lesbian with a boyish hair style then that should be my choice. Or if I want to give my dude dwarf a ponytail then bla bla bla.
- Add black eye shadow. I can't believe the lack of black eye shadow.
- Add more natural eye colors. In DA2 most of them looked kind of freaky. I like the wide variety but I would like if they looked more natural.
- Add piercings. Earrings, nose piercings and so on. And the option to give them different colors.
- Body type options would also be nice
- Freckles.

The best CC I've ever had the pleasure to play around with (and you can too since it's free2play now).
Edit: And the ability play an elf again please!

Jewelry would be interesting as well. I never thought I would have piercings on a character, but Kingdoms of Amalur changed my mind on that!

I love playing with CCs, so freedom is something I'd go for, but if it's not possible, I'd settle for decent-looking presets and the option to make changes in eye shape, nose shape and lip shape (and of course hair, colorings and such).
Also, I would love to see better hairstyles, not necessarily more of them. Pretty much all the new longer hairstyles added in DAII (apart from Hawke's hair) were just awful. For me, a simple, straight ponytail with NO spaghetti noodles on the forehead would do perfectly fine... in fact, I loved Cassandra's hair in Dawn of the Seeker. Can I have it?

- Race selection: human, elf, dwarf, kossith
- gender (I know that will be an option anyway)
- background
- class
- well defined presets (I thought Origins presets were more varied, as a whole)
- hair that looks like hair, texture, movement, etc.
- greater variety of hairstyles: some longer, bangs that frame the face in addition to chopped straight across or have strands (maybe choose your hairstyle then choose the bangs you want with it)
- a few more options in hair color. If you can provide green lipstick you can have a couple more varieties of hair color. A brighter blond would be nice. Not platinum, not ash.
- Better lipstick choices. I really like to use a deep rose sometimes, and that was impossible in da2. Partly the color options and partly the intensity slider.
- better lighting in the cc, or an option to preview in sunlight
- better lashes, especially for the women or some eyelash options.
- better intensity slider than da2, dao was much better
- freckles options: patterns plus intensity slider (this could include moles/beauty marks)
- scars with an intensity slider
- better variety of beards and mustaches.
- better stubble
- I want to be able to make soft and sharp featured characters.
- eyeliner and intensity options separate from eye shadow and tattoo options
- greater variety of tattoos plus intensity slider
- earrings separate from hairstyles: men and women
- if we don't have toolset ability to adjust upper and lower lip separately (thinner/fatter)
- keep eyebrows options, plus maybe ability to have one slightly higher than the other
- maybe some body type options
- keep neck and ear options

Scars and freckles.
I have been begging for this since I signed onto this site.
Scars.
Freckles.
I need them.
Don't forget pimples, moles, pox marks, open wounds, bug bites, and rashes.

We should have the option of more origins/races. Also more choices in hairstyles. No more DA:O hairdos and option for longer hairs. Also better make up and here's a big one: BODY TYPES.
I want the option for my warrior to have more muscle and the mage to have less. It should just reflect more depending on your class.
Take example from Dragon's Dogma character creator.

More than 5 tattoo choices. (Yes that's a guess, because I haven't actually counted since I modded my game to hell)
Facial scars.
I believe it was more like 10-12, the problem was that there was one, ONE, that was not symmetrical. Symmetrical facial tattoos look weird to me.
I'd really like to have complexion options with more subtle lines. It was particularly bad in DA2 because it was VERY easy to make Hawke look older than Leandra. It didn't help that your mom was a MILF.
I would really, really, hugely, enormously like to have a couple of body customization options. I know this is problematic with animations. I really don't care if they wind up leaving out the awkward groping scenes if I can play a character with something other than Generic Female Body.
