Well, Upsetting Shorts makes a fine point. They could go a subtler route. I think I've just played too much tabletop D&D for most of the "obvious" Python references to be funny ever again.
Is it too soon to make "NO ONE expects the Spanish Inquisition" references a bannable offense?

At the very least, if the protagonist is an inquisitor, he/she should have it as a sarcastic response or something, and then we are in money.

For serious. Something like:
Person A: "I am saying something annoying."
Person B: "Look if you don't stop I'm going to make you sit in the comfy chair."
Mediocre example but it gets the point across.

I always find the Spanish Inquisition part funny, but I wouldn't mind a reference to other Monty Python things. A reference to the Ministry of Silly Walks would be awesome.
As would a nod to the Black Knight.
