Pedro, great work (as always).

I've got just one question: which evolution 5 of the flamer produces the absolute largest damage (after all DoT is applied) - Increase damage by 40% or Increase duration by 60% ?

I always chose increase duration by 60% because I thought it would produce more damage, but after reading your post where you say "MOST FLAMER DAMAGE WILL BE APPLIED AFTER YOU STOP FIRING IT" I became confused.

Can you clarify that point?

You're doing it wrong, even with less damage, +40% damage is faaaar better.

you will NEVER in gold/platinum have enough free time to stand up 8sec in front of enemies.

Around a corner you can.

Maybe, but with Flamer, dps is better than duration in most situations, that's all.

I'd agree. Nothing will live long enough to take full advantage of an 8 sec Flamer.

I beg your pardon, but if you think it is necessary to stand in front of enemies to use the flamer, you are trotally wrong. On gold/platinum (which is all that I play), you can't even stay 4 sec with a Vorcha in front of an enemy and you'll certainly be killed. The secret is to use soft cover and "right hand advantage".

I beg your pardon, but you're still doing it wrong, even with the "right hand advantage" (and don't think anymore you will learn that thing to someone, everyone knows) dps is a lot better. And you know it. Try it.

LOL.

No, Flamer is awesome because of a feature that allows you to fire the Reegar as the same time as Flamer.  With a full Bloodlust weapon stack, this craps on GI's for damage.

I ran a Gold with a Vorcha Soldier last night who scored 280K as this blur of Fire and Lightning against the Reapers.

You ever see a Banshee die from full Barriers to dead in less than 6 seconds?

I have.

That's the Reegar, not the Flamer. You can use the Reegar with any and every power. You can shoot it while staggered too.

Increase duration by 60% should produce overall more damage ( otherwise would be a  useless option  ) - you get to stack flamer damage up to 16 times (fires 2 times per second)  instead of the 40%  damage evolution where you only get to stack it up to 10 times (but will do more damage per cast) ...

This   "MOST FLAMER DAMAGE WILL BE APPLIED AFTER YOU STOP FIRING IT" simply means flamer will not much (relative) damage to the target (most of the damage is added up and saved to be applied as DOT after you stop the stacking process  - switch target// stop firing  ) ...Similar to incendiary ammo - if you kill the target while still firing the flamer at the target you end up wasting the big damage stored up to be released as DOT .... "the art" is knowing WHEN you accumulated enough DOT potential damage and switching to another target leaving the DOT finish off the old one ...  Incendiary ammo might be buggy - but with some big clip weapons (ex PPR) making most use of its damage  potential is not really intuitive ...

Nono. People that take their job seriously and get all the details right just slow down releases. With some Pedro's on the team the patch would take another year. But then it would solve every single bug and add no new problems whatsoever. In the mean time their marketing manager would have divorced his wife, had a heart attack and tried to kill himself twice :)
