peddroelmz: would you mind testing something for me, please? Could you check if there is any bonus to ammo damage, when firing warp rounds at the target which is being flamed?

Why would it be any bonus extra damage in this case?

because someone told me that there is buggy implementation of warp ammo and flamed target is treated as a primed target, so the ammo bonus works.

You'll have to do better than that .. Flamer does not set up Biotic Explosions  (this is the priming warp ammo needs to do double damage) ...

I know that flamer doesn't setup BE. That's why I wanted to ask for verification, because that person was claiming it actually affects the warp ammo. If it doesn't it doesn't. Thanks for the verification.

Increase duration by 60% should produce overall more damage ( otherwise would be a  useless option  ) - you get to stack flamer damage up to 16 times (fires 2 times per second)  instead of the 40%  damage evolution where you only get to stack it up to 10 times (but will do more damage per cast) ...

Let's see if I'm getting this right.
It stacks the DoT 2 times per second and then releases those stacks after you stop firing at the target.
Meaning that at 500 DPS you need to fire only 1 second to do 2000 damage.

yeah im trying to figure this out aswell.........................

So I only need to fire my Flamer for a second or so instead of keeping it cooking targets or what!?

Peddro your math owns me can you simplify for us weaker minded please and explain the best way to use Flamer? Do I keep cooking or just set enemies on fire then run away or what what? :?

How about if you use Cryo ammo with, for example, 25% reduction to armour? Does that effectively add a 25% bonus to Flamer DOT?

[Edit] - Great post, btw!  A lot of effort has gone in to your post and you took the time to put it out for everyones benefit.

It does not. Reduction to armour only works on weapons. Powers will never suffer armour DR.

The best way to use flamer is to keep cooking and turn the fire off shortly before overcooking them.
Overcooking (keeping the fire on until the target is dead) is a waste of the flamer's damage potential.

Great thanks for Clarifying that corlist. I also have a question about Tact Cloak and DC, does Cloak+DC mean the DC will be at +80% damage for the entire 30seconds or for 2.5seconds or simply the duration of your cloak.

So the 2 logical ways to spec Flamer would be:

1) Damage/Duration/Armor Damage, for Highest DPS utilizing the DoT.
2) Reach/Damage/Armor Damage, for Maxium Damage at Range.

Reach/Duration/Armor Damage seems like it would be too weak, even if utilizing the DoT.

Has anyone tired puffing the enemies to death quickly using flamer? instead of continous stream of fire?
