If you go by the "Bioware likes to announce games 6 months out" rule, we are locked in for a March release as expected.

The end implies the holiday season. They probably also want to distance themselves from the DA2 release date.

The articles that I read today all said "late 2013". I think that'll be in late October, just like Origins was released. Just before Christmas time and right before Modern Warfare 6.

That is QUITE a long ways away. That's like 13 months.

Dragon Age: Origins was announced in 2004, and released in 2009.

I can wait another 13 months.

and {cough cough new consoles} some are trying to get out before the fall wave i.e next xbox wants to be out during September


so we could be looking at da3 as next gen game if it comes out almost at the time as the new xbox and ps3{if they keep to the days they want to put the new consoles out } which means i am going to saving up my moola toi get the next gen consoles hopefully da will be able to played on them

Xbox 720 is coming out for Christmas of 2013, but the PS4 might not be ready until the summer of 2015. My next console has to be to replace the 40GB PS3 so I'm waiting until 2015 to join the next gen.

microsoft says other wise and they already gave release date. september 13.2013{if the chips dont get screwed up during production}

I'd honestly expect them to pull an ME3 and not release until early-spring 2014.

Not that they're not honestly trying to get it out by late 2013, but a lot is riding on DAIII getting a great reception. They'll take the extra few months if they think the game needs it.

Well, if they release the new Xbox in September, that will have it out for Christmas of 2013.  I read the Xbox article a couple a months ago that they wanted it out for Christmas.  The situation with Sony seems to be that they spent A LOT of money on exclusive IPs recently for their system that they need to hold off the next gen to get their money's worth.

As long as I get little bits of info every now and then I might can survive till then. They HAVE been working on it for 2 years now.

I believe Origins got delayed an extra six months from Spring to Fall.  So it wouldn't be surprising.

As far as DA3's reception, it has a lot to overcome considering how DA2 was and how ME3 used their dlc to their detrement.   Bioware is really going to have to talk and show this game up to get people to want to preorder it.  It sure won't get the 700,000 preoders like DA2 did if they don't sell this game months before its release.

I agree! Though really, if they end up just a few months behind their projected release date, I am totally cool with that. Seriously minor disappointment!

Yeah except Bioware does not do this at all. Their last few games were announced nearly a whole year before release.

It's an interesting tidbit to see that DA3 is expected to release next fall(ish). I cannot wait to see more about the game (hopefully by the VGAs), but I don't want them to rush the game out. I can wait a till 2014 if that's what it takes to make sure the game is as good as it can be.
