Got the Mako which looks very nice. The Liara screenprint on the other hand is abysmal.

It may be fanart but I would much prefer a more realistic looking litho or screenprint.

That Liara screenprint is just further proof that eyes are the key to making something look good, because that face on her is just completely dissatisfying. The body, image around it, and print itself all are fine, but that face really throws the entire thing off.

I still think it'll look better in person. Glad I got one.

I really hope so! I liked the other screenprints they put out, so here's hoping this one is all right.

I didn't need it, especially when I own the amazing SDCC Liara print. I felt like this one was unnecessary for me to get, so I don't feel like I need to get a Liara one now that I have the other one.

I picked up both, I wasn't able to get the SDCC Liara, and there may never be another litho/print with her on it. The metallic inks thing intrigued me, I will wait and see in a few weeks how everything looks.

I have the Liara print sitting on my desk right now...

All that I can say is, the photos on the site unfortunately just -cannot- do it justice.

And she shines.  And space shines.

It's really beautifully done.

Got my Mako! I just cant get over how the Liara print doesn't look anything like her. And I don't know why but the hand looks bigger than her head to me in all of the shots.
Its kindof sad because I have been waiting for a Liara Litho and they come out with a screen print that photos "cannot" do it justice.
Im sorry MsD but if I can't be sold on a Liara screen print and I have been waiting for so long for a Liara "anything" for a very long time; its really hard to sell somthing when it comes with the tag line You have to see it to "really" see it; and you have to pay $40 plus S&H to see it.
Just not worth it in the end.
I hope that I am completly wrong and it sells out before my blurb is over but hey; just not for me.

Art is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. :)

Glad you got your Mako, Whites - also a beautiful print!

Just ordered myself a Mako. First Litho I've been excited for in some time! Going right beside my Normandy SR2.

I'll be honest. I'd be more than willing to get it if Liara's face didn't make her look like she had down syndrome. The metallic ink is a great idea and will hopefully be implimented more. However, the simple fact of the matter is Liara's face makes me think of the "restored" version of that Jesus painting.

Liara poster.

Jesus painting.

I think it's the shape of the face, which is so strangely round for reasons beyond my comprehension. The rest of her does indeed look great, and I'm sure the ink really is great. But the face totally ruins it for me.

Still, I love the idea beyond the product. I really think you guys should take another crack at it.

My biggest problem with the Liara is similar to the others: she just doesn't "look" like Liara. Not to mention the fact that it looks like ME1 Liara, but it looks like the artist was trying to represent ME3 Liara. In this regard, the artist failed miserably. I'm surprised it sold out. It did not look good at all, but I guess people were starving for a Liara something and this screenprint was it.

Also, I have to ask: did shipping prices increase? I remember purchasing a Thessia/Vancouver (forget which) and the shipping was $8ish. Now it's $11.50? So let's not overprice the lithograph, but let's overcharge on S&H? I'm willing to pay, but it NEEDS to be better packaged than before or this is really going to become upsetting.

MsD. Thank you for the reply. I have been wondering where you have been since you haven't posted for a while. I am happy to see that I was wrong and the Liara screen print sold out shortly after I posted (next time I wil have to post the powerball jackpot numbers before the drawing).

I do look forward to the lithograph launches since I was so late to the game to begin with them. And I can only hope that soon a lithograph of Liara comes out that will get more praise than ridicule.

As always; here is to hopefully getting back on track with the types of lithos that came out for ME2 that were such a giant success giving the fans something to cheer about again.

Liara's face looks awful, not because it's manga, but because it's a manga style I'm not particularly fond of, she looks like a manga style mannequin

I was going to buy the Mako but its out of context to me so decided against it.

The Mako for me represents exploration and discovery (Mass Effect 1). I rather see it on a vast alien planet landscape overlooking a scenic vista. like this screenshot, but a little more inspiring.  Throw in a ring belt a couple of suns and it be awesome.

Also I already have three combat based ME3 lithos. Other then replacing the main focus as the Mako it doesnt add much more. But I guess the white borders will be much nicer. Black borders don't work!

Really? Im curious as to why as it makes the over all litho far too dark. I have four black border lithos and all of them suffer due to this. The black borders subtract from the art as it causes the deep colours to blend into the borders. If the lithos were brighter then the black borders would work. But a litho using dark colours and a dark border means you have to get up close to see the detail. The white border lithos everything jumps out straight away. The art itself isnt subjective. But the borders it presented with causes conflict.

For example the Attack Europe litho and the screenshots on the site are great. However its really difficult to make out the entire left third of the litho due to the black borders. Everything just blends making it seem bland when it shouldn't.

I love the Aria piece framed, and I agree with you that color is important too. Although, just as important, is the type of glass/plexi used on the frame, and the color of the frame.

Yeah in my case having dark blue wallpaper on a black frame probably doesn't help, so I see what you mean.

Aria looks really good because it's an overall lighter piece than Attack Europe, Anderson, or Prothean. The first two black bordered lithos (Reaper Attack and Aria) look great, because they're actually pretty bright despite being darker-themed images. Anderson and Prothean (and from what I've heard, Attack Europe), were made entirely too dark for the black borders. I have the Anderson-Prothean two pack, and I immediately regretted getting them, and those are the only lithos I can say that about. I opened them up and I had to hold them right in front of my face to see anything. Forget hanging these on a wall, you can barely make them out because the images are so dark.

I have Aria, and I know it looks really good with the black border. So does Reaper Attack. But in person, Anderson, Prothean, and Attack Europe look awful with the black borders.

Like Crash said, you can see them fine in the promo images, but the real thing? Too damn dark to see. I think I posted a comparison in the thread for those lithos.
