Instead of Chobot, is there any chance that Bioware could buy their positive reviews by using a journalist who can actually act in some (any!) way, shape, or form? There's gotta be SOMEONE at IGN who can go in front of a mic and manage to sound more like a human being than your average text-to-speech software.

If they could also manage this time to make that person's character look a little less like the entire cast of Jersey Shore condensed into one person, that'd be just spiffy.

I didn't DISLIKE Allers as a character. I thought she was ok. It was more the principle of the thing that made me want to emulate my cat and throw up on EA's metaphorical carpet.

Allers was terrible considering you had emily wong and that other reporter who would have done perfectly fine.

Felicia Day is fine.

Chobot's only claim to fame was licking a play station. She is a disgrace to women gamers everywhere!

IGN didn't have enough conflict of interest with ME3, we need to make all their reviewers NPCs in DA3.

Only if Jeff Gerstmann is a wizard NPC who goes around saying "I'm a wizard and that looks ****ed up."

I want one of the mages party members to say. this. line! without me asking.

she was put in there for male gamers to enjoy and then she did not even have a sex scene in the game so us girl gamers had to put up with her and male gamers never got what they wanted to see from her because you can't tell me she was put in for her voice work

Sure, I think she'd make a great darkspawn.

Chobot's inclusion in ME3 was even worse than the ending. I've got nothing against her, but she was poorly implemented into the game and she took up a spot that should have gone to another character from the series.

I haven't played ME3 But i've seen what she looks like in there. I'm not sure of the capabilities of DA3's new engine but...I don't think they could pull it off...She has a very...interesting face...

Now now let's not be mean Ms. Chobot. Allers however, have at her, she was terrible just terrible. Definitely the worst thing to happen in gaming. No she should not come anywhere near Dragon Age III or any other video game ever.

While disagreement and dislike of a given character or actor is allowed, outright bashing is not. Please keep the Chobot hate down to a dull roar, especially since Mass Effect forum memes are off topic in a DA3 discussion forum.

Thank you.

Chobot should be the main character.

Beg pardon, but I'm a male gamer, and not only did I have no particular desire to have a Chobot character in ME3 (didn't know who she was, for starters), but I assure you that a sex scene with Diana Allers is, no lie, Number 2 on The RPGenius's List of Things He Never Wants to See, right below "Global Nuclear War" and right above "The O'Reilly Factor."  And I would be, frankly, downright staggered if it turned out that the majority of male players did not agree with me to some degree.

Please don't add either Chobot or Day. I have issues with both of them.

Ah come on support the little guys.  Eventually those professionals are going to die or retire and then we'll be stuck with nothing but amateurs.  Do you remember how bad video game voice acting was when they first started?  Do you really want to go through that again?

As for having Chobot in DA3 I say yes and no.  I wouldn't mind Chobot voicing a character in DA3; I know her performance in ME3 wasn't great but I've heard a lot worse in my time (doesn't even make the 100 worst).  However I wouldn't want them to pull another Diana Allers where she's in more or less as herself.  Mainly because such a character would be largely out of place.  So yeah if Bioware wants to give Ms. Chobot another shot at the VA game I see no harm in it, just keep it sensible.

I don't mind the idea of Felicia Day being in the cast necessarily, but they'd have to do a hell of a better job this time around with her character.  That last DA2 DLC was less "Here's a new adventure with the character you liked played by the actress you really liked" than it was "FELICIA DAY PLAYS FELICIA DAY IN: 'FELICIA DAY--THE FELICIA DAY STORY'."  Character consistency and plot substance first, please, pandering second.

In my experience, these topics turn into either "which female games figure is more popular" or a discussion of what kind of behaviour is acceptable for a female games figure to engage in.

In my mind, the topic is actually, "Should they use real life actors in games?" Personally, I'd say no. It detracts from immersion. (I really struggle with it, actually.)
