I'm inclined to agree. If I want to see the same characters as companions again, I'll just replay DA:O or DA2. I'd like to see new faces, get to know new people.

Yes for sure. The only characters I wouldn't like to see are Varric and Merril. Just kidding! Of course I love Varric! Merril....not so much. She's ok, but I'd definately prefer a new character over her.

Cameos if they make sense. We can upgrade minor characters to companions (Cullen, Cassandra) but I don't want to see previous companions as companions again.

As I said in a previous post, I'm not against not having any of the old characters even making a cameo, but I do get excited when I see a character I know and love.
Anyway, I'd like to see Alistair, Morrigan, Sten, Varric, and Isabela.
I have to have Varric though...as Hawke said "What would I do without my trusty dwarf?"

As either companions or NPCs, I would love to see Morrigan, Leliana, Shale, Varric and Isabela back. Meh on everyone else, while Fenris and Anders can go burn.

I would prefer an all new cast for companions, but it would be nice to have cameo's. Although now that I think about it... LOL! Nonono I'm sticking with the all new companions route.
Edit: And my real reason for all new companions is that I don't want to have to have shared the companions with my Warden and my Hawke. Rawr! Those two are enough trouble I don't need their brand of crazy coloring my companions. LOL!

If I should believe the rumour mill Varric is a very strong possibility.....
Would not have a problem with that because I really like the character.
As said above by Mousestalker, Duncan would be on my list. If there is a warden in the next installment with some fleshed out dialogues he would be the one for me to return.

I must see Alistair and Varrick. Wouldn't mind seeing Morigan. I hope they bring Cullen in as a companion and LI. Wouldn't mind seeing some charaxcters from Asunder...My guess is Cassandra and Liliana will be involved.

Nope, don't really want. I can't say there are any that I'd like to see return. In DA2 I felt like they tried to hard to push everyone into these very small rolls. Mage-Hater. Innocent Girl. ****y Girl. Token Dwarf. Etc. In DAO I just consider everyone mostly done and don't have an interest in what happened to them anymore.
