Sorry, but even if this looks great, there's no way I'm buying DA3 day 1.

I've been burned far too often by recent Bioware games. I bought DA2 day 1 because I loved DA:O. That one hurt. I bought TOR day 1 because I thought DA2 was just a fluke, and that TOR was being worked on by different people would make a difference. It did not. Because of these disappointments I decided to wait until some (user) reviews were up before buying ME3, and that decision wound up saving me $60. Clearly, I had made the right decision by only giving the game a rent.

So I don't know about the rest of you, but I cannot just assume greatness from the DA franchise now. Dont take this thread as a knock on the game or Bioware; I want the game to be great. I want a game as great or better than DA:O. But history has shown me three times over that greatness is not a guarantee, unfortunately. So like I did with ME3 I'll be waiting for some players' reviews for this game before getting it. There's simply no reason for me to do otherwise.

K, wait for the reviews then.

We'll keep on plugging away here trying to give feedback and ideas to make this the best game for as many of us as possible.

It's understandable and it's good that you are waiting before purchasing this game. It's a good choice when you're not sure about the game.

As for me, I'm buying day 1 still, but I do hope that after waiting the game does impress you and you will enjoy it after you've learned if the game is right for you!

I know... It is very possible for them to make a game better than DA:O - But will they: We really don't know. It all depends on how much they listen to the fans and apply it to the game. Mass Effect 3 team said they were listening to the fans and they put out an ending that had the opposite of what fans want. So I hope the DA3 team is serious about listening to fan feedback.

I find it's a good idea to wait for player/fan feedback in general. Most "professional" game reviews are an absolute joke. Most games these days drop in price incredibly quickly anyway.

I will be doing the same. If it is good we will get to play a patched game and avoid some of the worst bugs. If it is not good or to our liking, then we avoid paying $60 for a product we do not want.

I absolutely understand and see where you're coming from. I feel pretty meh after Mass Effect 3, but I will buy this game since I really like the world and hope it will rise above all previous dissapointments and fears. Let's hope this game does better than Dragon Age ][.

Well, DA 3 is my final chance for Bioware, so I'll probably get it day one and see what happens.
I believe in at least 3 chances before I turn my back on a company ( they already have two strikes; ME3 ending and DA2)

The only thing that will stop me from pre-ordering as soon as I can will be if it is on next gen exclusively. Then I will begrudging consider ordering a ps4 or 720 for its likely high price.

Oh, and if this game is Origin-exclusive that might be the final nail in the coffin right there. DA3 would have to really impress me to reinstall that garbage.

It's not just BioWare. The entire game industry has seemed to lose its damned mind in the last few years. There were two games that I was really looking forward to in the past few months: Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, and Madden 13. I didn't buy either of them Week One. I waited until there was a week's worth of user reviews on different sites before I bought them. I wasn't disappointed at all because thanks to the Internet, I knew exactly what to expect/ not expect. I'll be doing the same for DA3.

I will also be doing the same.

Truthfully I'll probably end up getting it regardless, but it will be a pre-owned copy if there is lots of negativity surrounding it.

Atm, I am going to wait and see whatever or not there will be another outrage. But if they completely annihilate the RPG elements and the freedom like they did with ME3 then no....I don't care that it's Dragon age and I don't care that it's another game in one of my favorite series of all time.... Not supporting dumped down RPG experiences ruined in order to appeal to action gamers ala CoD kids.....

I'm curious as to why you've got a particular dislike for Origin. To me besides functionality its the same as Impulse or Steam(although I think Steam is the most functional of the three). I did find it extraordinarly convenient that Origin allows me to keep all my save files when I upgraded to a new computer.

If you don't like running a program constantly you can set it not to run on start up. Having to DL a Steam-type program is enough for you to decide whether or not to buy a game?

Based on what? Their track record? The fact that BW listens so well?

I highlighted know for a reason. Nothing is set in stone for them at this stage of development. Plans change, all the time.

Dragon Age 2 released less than a year after Dragon Age Awakening. DA3 has already been in development longer than DA2.

i would buy it on day 1 if bioware proved that the game would have an ending that makes sense and is not the awful weird nonsensical garbage we are stuck with in mass effect 3 because that ending never stops sucking
