(I have randomized their positions to highlight the general concept that applies equally to all of them)

They should use all these faces to have more variation between the elves. They all looked too similar in DA2. Not all Elves have to be anorexic... right?

In my humble opinion, they should try their hardest to capture the badassery of these 2 elves; probably just wishful thinking on my part though. Image IPB

I love it. Much better than the DA2 elves who looked like humoniod bugs with those eyes and ears. I would take the DAO over DA 2. but really like these guys also.

Yes, DA2 elves looked awful.

It also violated established canon, as the elves are supposed to be considered physically attractive according to DA:O. There isn't anything wrong with a fantasy series having elves that look like muppets, but not if you are describing them as attractive in the lore.

DA2's elves looked like this:

DA2 elves were almost universally unattractive IMO, so I don't want those designs to return. DAO elves were great except that with some hairstyles (see avatar) you didn't know they were elves at all. So, personally I'd like them to look human but with large ears. Escaping Fort Drakon by posing as a guard recruit in DAO would never have worked for DA2 elves, many of whom looked like anorexic punk mutants.

Oh I didn't notice a difference in either games' elves other than the graphics on their hair/clothing/skin being updated.

I'm going to say no, because I rather they focus on other stuff.

Yes, I think they should change the elf design - or just pick a different name for the race. I think that most people expect elves to be graceful and beautiful creatures and not an odd bunch of emaciated, weirdly proportioned, fish-eyed people. If something becomes different enough from the established myth/lore/expectation, why still call it by a name that no longer fits it?

Imagine a game that has werewolves. They look like upright walking wolves alright, complete with fur and claws and fangs. These are things generally attributed to werewolves. Then the sequel is released. It still has werewolves. But now they look kinda fat and their fur has become a bit sparse and their claws are gone... in fact, if you squint just right, they might look more like hairy hippos now. Now, what is this? A refreshing new take on werewolves, who just looked like boring upright walking dogs in the first game anyway? Or are these critters simply not werewolves any more?

That's what happened to the Dragon Age elves.

They probably will, maybe a little bit. Hope they don't change their appearence too much though, 'cus I much prefer their appearence in DA2. They look more unique, more different than humans. In the first game there wasn't much difference between them. So...yeah, I don't think they should change the Elves appearence. :)

I quite liked the new art style on the elves to be honest. It distinguished them apart from the humans with more than just ears. And Merrill was so damn cute with that look. Hope they keep it.

Except for that minor tidbit, you do have to admit the resemblance is uncanny!

 YEEES.

YES PLEASE DEAR GOD YES. CHANGE IT PLOX.

More like DAO, less like DA2.

I prefer the more humanized elves than the delapidated, anorexic, shriveled up troll looking things they became in DA2.

What? No.

DA2 elves have a weird flat nose bridge, which is part of what makes them hideous. Beeker has a HUGE round nose, with a very clear divide between face and nose.

DA2 elves have creepy sunken (yet large) eyes. Beeker's eyes are popping right out of his head (although admittedly they are also large).

DA2 elves (and everyone else, actually) had weird wooden hair. Beeker has more realistic hair than they ever did.

So, no. Not seeing any resemblence.

Keep it general style of them the same but improve the way they look within it, more like Fenris, Merrill, Athenril etc. The big eyes, distinctive nose and more prominent ears worked well otherwise in my opinion.

Change it back to the 1st game. Elves truly were hideous in DA2.

It is the unnaturally long, thin faces that both have. DA2 Elves have Beaker's head, except with a flatter nose and eyes that don't protrude. Image IPB

While I didn't mind the change in appearance for elves in DA 2, I also wouldn't mind if Bioware decided to alter the look for the next game either. If I had to suggest one change, it would be to make them not as thin, although I do realize that elves are supposed to be smaller in frame than humans, according to the lore in DA.

The first time I saw Zevran in DA2, the only thing I could think was that he looked like a coked out Na'vi. This was driven home when a friend took a screenshot of him and added blue skin, stripes, and a pink cat nose; then bam! Avatar reject. :/ So yes, please, I'd like to see them changed in some manner. I think it's the weird, straight nose bridge thing that does it...

Aaaand here's the screenshot for reference! Image IPB

Great design in my opinion. But of course, no copy paste actions. But I really like this concept for Elves :)
