Agreed.
The Witcher 2's elves were far superior to DA2's. Oddly enough, DA:O's elves were similar to the Witcher. Bioware wouldn't eveen need to copy a game made by another company. Just revert back to DA:O and call it a day.

The first time I saw Zevran in DA2, the only thing I could think was that he looked like a coked out Na'vi. This was driven home when a friend took a screenshot of him and added blue skin, stripes, and a pink cat nose; then bam! Avatar reject. :/ So yes, please, I'd like to see them changed in some manner. I think it's the weird, straight nose bridge thing that does it...
So you're upset that after you changed the character's skin tone, patterns, and nose, he looked like a Na'vi?

to humanishly looking looks like they just stuck long airs anda tat on his neck and sorta on his chest
elves have to look fragile, non muscular, elegant, poise. but strong{nit superhuman strong mind you} and able to move fast and also alien looking of sorts elongated body that make them look like they would break if you fought them that's how i think everyone pictures them if you ever played pen and paper dnd i remeber that sorta description when i fought one it was really hard fight due he/she had alot endurance and was connected to the forest around them, and knew every cave and nature trap that could impede my fighting

Nope. Not upset at all, actually. I had made a comment on a forum that I frequent that, upon coming across Zevran for the first time in DA2, I had a laugh because he reminded me of a skinny, unhealthy Na'vi. A friend thought this was rather humorous and painted up a screenshot for us. That's all, so I'm not sure where you're getting the whole 'upset' thing.

You say you find Iorveth too human looking and then post a picture of an elf who pretty much fits "human with pointy ears" just as much Iorveth does?

yes i know but the picture i was showing was more or less how i would picture them regardless of sex that's is how i would picture them as i can find male one if you wish? that doesn't look anything like the one above mine and the picture is of a high elf ranger i was using her body as structure picture as with the male elf it does indeed look more human since the ears are pointed up and chest showing as buffed so yes it looks like it was quick draw elf that was stickied ears and tattoo on sorry but i can show better ones if you want of male and female elf
here one of elven male caster note how the armor seem to be not tightly fitting on his frame and look at his slender arms and semi showing stomach this is what male should look like although the ears should be longer but then again the artist did draw a dark-elf caster male

so like i said that picture looks more humanish compared to the ones i showed full bodied and in armor and different species of the elves.. the webiste have vast amount of drawns of different types and wow elves drawings..

Not only that, but a ridiculously over sexualized elf who is wearing 'armor' that isn't armor at all.
Hilarious that she's wearing pauldrons but leaves her chest, abdomen, and thighs exposed.

Aaaand here's the screenshot for reference!
Odd thing is, Na'vi Zevran actually looks pretty good, at least compared to what we actually got in DA2

Reminds me of the Kingdoms of Amalur Light Elves.
So yeah, with a different skin color and hair color, that look isn't too bad. With a "real" skin and hair color though it looks atrociously horrid.

My apologies! I'm just so used to DA2-elf-bashing, I automatically made an incorrect assumption. Sorry for the miscommunication.

Yaevinn and Iorveth... *swoons* Oh, how I love them. There's something so romantic/tragic/hot about the rebel elves of the Witcher series.obZen DF wrote...

I wouldn't mind more Fenris/Merrill-style elves, though. And Jethann! He was just so fun.
Really, a happy medium between DA2, DAO poster, and Witcher elves would be endlessly pleasing.

If they can refine it to at least something between DAO and DA II, I would be more appreciative. Exaggeration of features is one thing, I think DA II went a bit overboard.
BTW, Merrill was still one of my favorites in DA II, the voice acting was quite enjoyable.

IMHO, the elves in DA II looked like an attempt to go slightly anime and rather 'cartoony'in style and I feel the eyes and ears were just a little too much for me. I preferred the elves of DAO when compared to DA II.

Yeah there needs to be a middle ground between the two to please both sides. I think they could create an Elven look similar to Origins with certain elements from 2 to help retain the unique Elven appearance.

My own scientifically accurate does-this-elf-suck-o-meter functions as follows:
Look at the picture. Proceed to cover them pointy ears. Is there anything left in her/him that makes the person look at least slightly alien in comparsion to humans? If no, the elf in questioni s a boring dismissable neutral stock fantasy solution.
Meter works fine but results in loads of fingerprints on screen:(

In my humble opinion, they should try their hardest to capture the badassery of these 2 elves; probably just wishful thinking on my part though. <_<

I completely agree. As I've said before, I believe that the DA2 elf design has a lot of potential, but needs some work. I'd like to see elves with less exaggerated proportions: eyes that aren't quite so huge, foreheads that don't look so bulging, and bodies that aren't quite so extremely thin.
