God YES?! DA][ elves were awful far too thin, some of the faces reminded me of the liberation of Belsen , and those ears who the hell came up with those. The darkspawn could stand tweeking to.

We should find out by January what the DA3 elves will look like. We might see some concept art before then, but as we know concept art has had trouble importing over to video graphic art.  Please, please no more goat people.

Yes they should indeed. I mean those in DA2 were horrible while in DA:O were ok-ish. I would love though the canon regarding physical appeareance to be respeceted. Elves ARE humans with pointed eares and maybe some small detail to make them different. Plus Elves are suppose to looks good and being attractive...which in DA2 they were not.

Photoshop their ears and I'd believe they're both human at first, second and fifth glance. Stick a helmet or hat on either of them and they could travel Orlais without anybody guessing their heritage. The idea that elves look different is one of the things I like in DA2, even though the function by which BioWare randomises new faces for NPCs probably need a look over.

I agree with you to some extent.... I preffer the different species to look..... different! But not to much. Elves were almost identical to humans in DA:O, while with the kossith in DA2 they went to far, they almost looked demons..... I think they should take the elves from DA2 and OOOOOOK, they could make them prettier but keeping the big eyes and some other details..... and also take kossith from DA:O and accentuate the differences with humans.

Just change the gaunt look and the skinny bodies. Elves in most any lore are beautiful creatures. We get it in DA universe no one really likes them but that doesn't mean they have to be ug.

I think something between DAO and DA2 elves would be perfect. In DAO they looked to much like Humans (see my Avatar), in 2 they looked too alien.

I really, really hope they go back to Origins style elves. In fact, I hope they forget all about the new design from DA2 and they just make a little tweak to the original.

Like I always say on this: DA elves are predators, not prey. Think cats, not cattle. They shouldn't look like halla, deer.

That's the problem with allowing customization with our characters.  They'll probably stick to the human race again so that you don't end up making an elf that looks human again.

But... I think Merrill is very attractive. Or perhaps that's her personality shining through, I can never tell with myself. *shakes head*

Its not just the main character - pretty much all elves in DAO look like human.
They could introduce different editor options for elven characters. Not saying they should not stick with one race, though.

The nose is the only thing I hated about the new elves. Elves should be very thin, but I think their faces should still be attractive. Just my opinion, but Merrill was the only attractive one in DA2. I remember Zevran saying that the crows used elves because they were pleasing to the eye... Or something like that.

Maker yes! Merrill and Fenris were both ok, but I will never forgive them what they did to my poor Zevran.

Make them shorter like in DA:O and for gods sake, make those ears smaller! They look ridiculous!

Lower the damn neck. Like, everything else is "passable" (I prefer the DAO look, like in that concept art), but seriously, Merril needed that damned scarf to not make me stare at her neck the entire time. Watching the romance scene on YouTube, I couldn't help but just O.O

Nah, DA2 elves were fine. They don't look human, but apart from a few poor souls (Orana), they're still attractive. Darkspawn, however, need to go back to that sinewy Origins look.

Some of DA2 elves were scarier than Darkspawns.
So yes please, at least made them all Merril quality.

AND FIX THE NECKS AND HANDS WHILE YOU ARE AT IT. ALSO DARKSPAWNS!

Agreed. The scene with the Ogre in the tower, the first Darkspawn coming through the forest at Ostagar, scary.  The Ogre that killed Carver? Not intimidating at all. He looked like he was wearing makeup, even, and not in the ironic, scary way like the Joker, more like some confused, lost soul.

I think it's good what they did with the elves. They just need to refine it a bit more.

No, just spend more time with them. Merril and Fenris were both fine looking while being very obviously not short humans with pointy ears.

I know BW have been adamant about keeping the "redesign" of the elves, but will y'all at least consider putting some meat on their bones? A "lithe" race should be graceful and lean, like the drell from Mass Effect; not a group of people suffering from race-wide anorexia.

And, well, de-emphasizing the huge ears and eyes, and the na'vi-like nose would also go a long way toward helping them. It's just that the large eyes and ears make them "cute", and harder to take seriously as a race of gritty survivalists striking it out in the wilds or living against all odds in the Alienages.

Narrow and shrink their eyes, and possibly give them a honed or hungry look and the reflective property seen in wolves and felines. Sharpen the tips their noses, and indent the bridge a bit (but not to the extent of a human). Reduce the size of their ears, sharpen the points a bit, more like a dagger than a leaf (hence "knife-ears"), and put them back upright; no drooping. This would keep with the overall design you had in mind, but refine it and give them a more primal, dangerous look that would give humans a (misguided) reason to be wary of them.

Don't get me wrong, I was very happy to see the different races getting distinctive looks; I *love* the redesigned kossith, they are my favorite race in Dragon Age. But the elves... with all due respect, they just need some tweaks.

Well at least improve it. I love how Fenris and Merril look but most other elves look.....interesting. To be honest I've gotten used to them.
I think they could easily make some tweaks so that they look like this badass more. :kissing:
