I'm hoping that they don't go back to the old format with one bi and one straight. Straight gamers can romance everyone while the gaymers stuck with just one, so it's the either take-it-or-leave-it option. Alistair is an adorable woobie, I was so sad that he wasn't romanceable. I would agree with you that having bi choices are fine, but if they want to make a herosexual then the herosexual LI should comment on the sex related to your gender if you want to make it believeable. It's a bit annoying that Kaidan commented on females while getting together with Male Shep. I would love for something subtle like commenting on how handsome someone is, the same way Kaidan did to Jacob if Femshep cheated on him. It's just these little sutbles things that bring the story to life, you know?CraftyAitrus wrote...
Although I love what happened in ME3 with Cortez being gay and only an option for the BroSheps, I personally have no problem with some of the LIs being PlayerSexual. But if they're going to make a companion a PlayerSexual LI, then go for it all the way. By that I mean, if the PC is playing a Female, and expresses interest in HotGuyCompanion, have him express his heterosexuality and fondness of bewbs (the PC's bewbs, even). But if the PC is Male and flirts with the exact same HotGuyCompanion on a different play-through, I'd be totally okay with him stating how gay he is and "Thank the Maker you came into my life because and bewbs are gross."
This whole bisexuality thing seems to have been poorly implemented with some of the NPCs. It's like they're trying to make a character straight, gay, or bi across everyone's board, when I was under the impression that each Warden/Hawke/DA3Hero's story is supposed to be unique to the player playing it. If HotGuyCompanion is gay in one play through and straight in another, I'm totally okay with that and will roll with those punches. I think it would make my experience even more special because I know it's (at least halfway) unique to me.
Do not misunderstand me: I am not attacking the characters that openly are bisexual. Isabella and Zevran were wonderfully well-done, and I had no issue romancing either simply because they "slept with someon of the other sex." They owned their bisexuality all the way. It's just that the earlier debate over Anders's sexuality, to me, is annoying. Why can't he straight in your play-through, but gay in mine? Does it really matter?
And, just to play Devil's Advocate to my own idea: How big of a Dick Move would it be if BioWare did my idea, but to the opposite effect? Like, what if Cullen tells a female PC he's as gay as the day is long, but then when you start a new playthrough as a male, he tells you he's straight as an arrow?
Personally, I'd RageSmile while laughing through my own tears at the beauty of the boldness of it all.
you my good sir just gave me a new word from now on i'll be calling myself a gaymer thank you kindly +100:wizard:
