I agree. I don't particularly care about Cole, but I'd be up for a M/M romance where the LI is shy and in need of protection. Maybe because it reminds me of Merrill. Image IPB

Same! I'm also not sure about Cole since I haven't read Asunder and probably won't. But a sweet and cute M/M LI would be fun. My Hawke enjoyed snuggling his prickly Fenris, so that was something. I mean, Fenris really did need a hug. But he certainly wasn't innocent or young. But yet he did need protecting... he practically begged Hawke to help him with Danarius. (He didn't have to beg my Hawke's though... they were putty in his hands :P)

I personally thought of Fenris as bi in my headcanon. It's just the vibe he gives out. I'm not saying this to justify my romance because the one I romance most of the time is Anders and sometimes Isabela. Headcanon is a peculiar thing. For me, each playthrough is a different universe, so sometimes, I head cannon my LI as gay, sometimes straight, and sometimes bi.

It is funny how people see things differently but are playing the same game. Testament to the versality and awesomeness of the game IMO. For me, I couldn't see Fenris as anything but gay. That's because he always, ALWAYS hooked up my guy Hawke. I felt so strongly about the pairing that when I intend to romance Anders I don't even recruit Fenris.

Anders I see as bi, Merrill as bi, but Isabela always seems lesbian to me. She will sleep with men because that's the world she lives in, and she doesn't shy from such things, but only another woman can get at her heart...

To dark knight, why not? How is a demon or spirit different than an elf or dwarf? It is a fantasy game.

Not that it is a bad thing, but he absolutely was.

I'm not sure how dwarves are comparable to the volus? One is a race of proud warriors, merchants and inventors who basically look like muscular, short humans. The other is a species of walking suits (not that I'm hating, I do love my volus adept).

I feel so lost in the middle of this discussion because I did not read any DA book.

As for dwarf romances, if you were a dwarf noble girl in Origins, you could have a kindof romance with Gorim. I loved Gorim.

Yeah I played the first part of that Origins... before I got bored with playing as a girl lol But I thought the Gorim romance was really sweet! Opened my eyes to a dwarf romance.

I really enjoyed ordering him around

The male dwarves always look very old to me (Even Varric). Like I said, I wouldn't oppose to it, even though I wouldn't romance them personally.

I hope the love triangle return. I love the jealousy sequence and if you romance two person, you need to choose. We haven't had one for a M/M romance yet. :P

I'm not crazy about the way male dwarves look to be honest (except for the ones I make), but Gorim and princess Aeducan's love story was really sweet and well-written (I wish it had a happy ending, though).

Well, there was HawkexFenrisxAnders m/m triangle. I wish there was a scene where both of them confronted you like in the original Mass Effect.

Maybe we can reply- "Can I have both?". It would be incredible douchey but funny at the same time. If it was an option, I would expect Fenris to bow down leaving Anders at your side. Anders and Liara both are very stalkish.

Gorim origns is very romantic indeed, but it's because it's a well-written romance, I guess. I don't think I would ever romance a dwarf, but we shall see in the future if they are included as potential LIs.

Just because of the looks? Do you find a Kossith to be all that better looking?

Tall, muscular (and as of DA II, shirtless) men are often very appealing to many people. Finding a Kossith attractive is not harder than being all over, say, Garrus or Wrex. As far as appearence goes (because romance is also about exploring a character in a more deep way) dwarves and kossith are on a tie, for me (I can live without the over-the-top beards though).

I just want an interesting character, I'll even suffer through an elf if I must :wizard:

t's a bit shallow, but I romance people while RP similar to the way I do in real life. If my character doesn't find the LI appealing then I wouldn't romance them while RP. I find kossith to be more appealling than dwarven overall. Actually, scratch that, I find the entire race of kossith to be very sexy. Tall and masuclar.

I personally prefer human LI over all other races though. Despite many people pinning for Garrus to be the bi option, I was very happy it turns out to be Kaidan. He's a lot sweeter than Garrus and depend on you for emotional support. It was heartbreaking when he tells Shepard to "don't leave me behind". I just want to hug him. :P

I'm hoping for more sweet LIs like that as opposed to hard as rock. Although Kossith would most likely be all hardass, but it would at variety to the different LIs in the game.

I thought I'm the only one who doesn't find elves to be appealing.

Although I find male kossith sexy (I mean, come on), that's not why I want one as LI. I don't find elves sexy at all but Fenris is my favorite LI.

I'm wondering about Kossith's view on homosexual though. If everyone were to do as they suppose to, I think that reproduction would be one of them. Maybe we will have a rogue Kossith who doesn't follow the qunnari. That would make an interesting romance. :P

Oh yeah, I definitely don't want a Qunari as a LI. I would prefer an ex-Qunari. So actually a gay or lesbian or bi kossith who is ex-Qunari ... maybe that was part of his/her reason to leave the Qun.

I like the way you think, Kossith for everyone.

Seriously, Bioware, a kossith LI would be awesome.

He wasn't. Or rather, he was to an extent, but there was a reason. I think a lot of people missed how sardonic and self-deprecating Zevran really is. It's a part of why I like his character so much -- he had a crappy life, but hand-waves it, belittles the pain. He's a tough little cookie. I loved both his looks and his personality.

Alistair for me was just a friend, a laugh-out funny joker, but I never felt attracted. Kaiden as a character I downright despise. When he started talking about his "integrity", God, I so wanted my Shep to punch him. Anders was another whiner, sorry to say. So my go-to gay choice in DA2 was Fenris, the only good-looking elf in the game.

About a Kossith, I definitely could find one attractive, I mean just look at that body. I've read some Saemus/Ashaad fanfiction and it was pretty hot. I do wonder if everything on a Kossith is bigger, though. Could be painful.

I like Kossith voices, but I'm certainly not atracted to them phisically. They are too big, have sharp teeth, grey skin and giant horns. I'm more atracted to them than to any Turian and Krogan, though.

I prefer lithe fellows so kossith is out for me, but I would support it in the game just for the story aspect. I imagine Qunari being anti-sex/romance for anything than procreation so a gay tal vahshoth would make for a nice allegory.

Oh yesss, Kossith.
It's hard not to find them attractive. They're so tall and muscular and rough...Image IPB
But even looking past that, their culture in itself is interesting enough to get me to want to romance one.

Honestly, if we had a male Kossith LI, I'd probably have a very hard time deciding who to romance in my first playthrough. (And that rarely happens, especially with lesbian options available. Usually a male LI would be no contest for a female LI, but a Kossith....that'd be hard, you guys.)

Be careful... if DG catches us talking about kossith LIs he'll come in here and accuse us all of being fetishists *rolls eyes*

It's like, okay, we're not supposed to fetishize the LIs, sure. But we are supposed to enjoy them, right? I mean, they are romances. You are supposed to get warm squishy feelings of happiness. There is surely a not-so-fine line between "warm and squishy and squee-worthy" and "damn I gotta get my rocks off to the pixelated hotties goin' at it," you know?

Silly David Gaider. :P

I personally don't get my rocks off of pixelated LIs in the game. I like the romantic aspect of the game. It's like reading a romantic novel for me, except I can interact with the LI in the novel. The sex scene is just to give me the fantasy of consummation of the relationship. I have never feel lust during the scene. It just mostly gives me a warm fuzzy feeling about two people being in love. I usually just smile while watching it. That is why I don't even need something too explicit like Witcher. I think the scenes with Kaidan, Liara, and Ashley are enough. The foreplay that leading up to the scene is all I'm asking for. Maybe a bit longer would be fine as well.

There has to be something attractive about the LI in order for the fantasy to work. If the LI looks like Gollum, I doubt many people would romance him/her. . Even though I think Kossiths are damn fine, I also am very interested in their culture and I have always been a fan of forbidden love. The Kossith LI defies the law of qunnari to be with your PC. <3
