A large kossith berserker would be nice, or at least someone more masculine then the elves and mages that seems to be the trend. Where is the gay muscle men and bear love?

I've romanced all the possible m/m options for the dragon age games and I enjoyed them for what they are, but it'd be nice to break out of the pattern.

Have there ever been a feminine gay LI though? Kaidan, Alistair, Zevran, Anders, and Fenris are all pretty masculine. They have no lisp and don't act "girly" either. There are some girly sounding prostitutes, but since they are not LIs, it doesn't matter much. I would also prefer masculine LIs since I don't connect with feminine guys in term of romance. I think Bioware did well in portraying gay LIs. Most of the guys don't fall under the feminine stereotype that the media often perpetuate. I don't mind having them in the game though. Wade is pretty hilarious in the first game, and I hope they bring him back.:happy:

I know it sounds like I am never happy saying this but as long as they don't let whoever wrote Steve's romance in ME3 write the SS romances for DA3 I will be fine.

As much as I like the Steve character, and enjoyed his "friendship" arc in ME3, and love that BW included exclusively gay LIs in the game, his romance was horrible. Just horrible. It was evident that a straight guy wrote it constantly thinking "what do dudes like? I know, sex!"
It was very blatant, and to me it was borderline offensive.

I want a character that is just who he is, and his romance is written with the character kept in mine, not his gender or sexuality.

i don't mean lisping stereotypes, I mean boy band material and Anders, Fenris, Kaidan, and Zevran and Alistair would all look at home in one. Don't get me wrong I like most of those characters but I want to romance Canderous, Sten,Zaeed, etc...

I thought it was bad not because of the reason you stated but of the emotional turmoil he has and the fact that I feel like a replacement if I choose the romance. The one thing that stands out the most about his romance is his death husband. At least, for me, I didn't get to know his character. I don't feel like the character is offensive, I just feel like the character just wasn't as well-done as I thought it would be. Plus, I waited 3 games for Kaidan, I probably am pretty biased when picking between Kaidan and Steve.

I love Steve; I though Steve and Kaiden were equally cute and well, sexy! But you're exactly right; I couldn't romance Steve because I just wanted to hug him and be there for him and help him get past (not "over") his grief. I think it is probably a really wonderful romance, and some people are into hurt/comfort type stuff, and probably really enjoyed comforting dear Steve. But it was too much for me, and well, choosing Kaiden instead... twist my arm!

I feel a bit strange that they decide to include a shower scene like that. I'm really curious to see what lesbian or bi girls think about that scene. That was pretty erotic, but somehow it feels like the scene was aimed at straight guys. Maybe I'm just imagining it. Maybe it's just unfortunate implication. 

Still, Kaidan's love scene is the best though. It was sweet but not overdone. I really want DA to have love scene like that if they have enough resources.

They should definitely make the LI more diverse in term of personality and look. Fenris is very bishounen, so he's totally motomotogirl's type.
I would prefer more of an everyday type like Alistair or Kaidan though. Maybe we'll have a strong and manly type then a more sensitive type in DA3. If Cullen is in DA3 as a LI, I would imagine him to be the sensitive type. Who would be a good candidate for the strong and manly LI though? Maybe Rhys... Too bad he's taken though.

Thats just my opinion. 

/Agree.  Even though I did like Zevran's humor, Fenris was totally unbearable and Anders was well... He was too busy with his mage thing and not enough with Hawke. Kaidan was absolutely amazing in ME and Steve wasn't that bad either. So I hope we get someone like Kaidan in DA:3 .

Er, yeah. I'm all for people getting what they want, but the past male options have been either boyband/Ambercrombie material or straight up bishonen. Now are those bad things? No, but it's annoying when those are my only options. Where are the hypothetical Varrics, Zaheeds, Garruses, and Wrexes for the guys? I want butch manly dudes, with beards. Beards are always nice.

That's perfectly fine. I've got no issue with Kaiden-esque LIs or whatever, but it's only when that type is my option is what annoys me.

Except for Garrus no one got Zaeed or Varric or Wrex either tho

The lack of facial hair in the ME universe is worrying. But as a Dragon age thread I shall simply call for more beard and tache options.

Oh and I did a rough photoshop of James Vega with a handlebar mustache.
