My thread, IT LIVES.

Er, yeah. I'm all for people getting what they want, but the past male options have been either boyband/Ambercrombie material or straight up bishonen. Now are those bad things? No, but it's annoying when those are my only options. Where are the hypothetical Varrics, Zaheeds, Garruses, and Wrexes for the guys? I want butch manly dudes, with beards. Beards are always nice.

The lack of facial hair in the ME universe is worrying. But as a Dragon age thread I shall simply call for more beard and tache options.

Oh and I did a rough photoshop of James Vega with a handlebar mustache.

He.
Looked.
Awesome!

James Vega is too muscular to my taste. I would prefer toned body than bulky muscles. That reminds me, we haven't had a LI with bulky muscles yet, may not the romance for me, but a lot of gals and guys seem to be into James Vega.

If Vega's verbal sparring with Cortez is anything to go by. Vega knows it too.

I wish my FemShep could have romanced him in a game of one upmanship throughout the entire story. That boxing match at the start was a great scene with Vega. And sadly his last. He just disappeared in the narrative after that. Replaced with characters I had known for far longer and have deeper ties too.

Romancing him would be a great opportunity to put him back in the spotlight. But his alpha male take charge persona would clash with Shepards. And I think BW could mine some comedy from that relationship.

Would be nice to have more options. If they release a DLC that focus on romance, it would be a first. I think they should at least release one to see what happens. Who knows? They may rack in the cash.;)

BURN!!  To be clear, he is more my character type, in terms of writing and romance. As for personal preference, I guess I lean more towards Kaiden... I like bigger guys but with little boy faces. Or if Duncan had been a romance option... *SWOOOON!*

WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO THE VEGA?! :o He is perfect as is. Although I would not be against a little more scruff.  Scruff is always good.

God I wanted to romance him so badly. Is he the ME version of Varric? So many people wanted to romance Varric (I didn't, but yeah.) Or maybe Aveline. You could actually flirt with Aveline. And she friendzoned you lol

James and Aria... the two people I most wanted to romance in ME3 but couldn't.

I'm forever bitter that they didn't make Joker romanceable, even for FemShep. That could have been one amazing romance.

Must...... talk....... Dragon....... Age..........!!!

Though romancing Aria and Vega would be cool. Cause no matter what gender Shep is, s/he knows what s/he likes.

But back to DA. Will we ever see the return of Morrigan? As good as the romances are, Morrigan's was the only one that felt unresolved, due to a future the players set in motion that is just begging to be seen.

Joker is soooo adorable and sweet and geeky. He's so the kind of guy I would have preferred romancing with my male Shep.

I love Kaiden but I didn't feel like him and Shepard connected, probably b/c I didn't play the first two games LOL (Hope to rectify that after this xmas)

B-But this is the M/M thread, so I take it to mean you want Morrigan to undergo a sex change and come back as a smoking hot snarky emo dark-haired little magey bastard.

To which I would say, YES PLEASE :o

Or regular Morrigan is fine, too, I suppose.

A cat is fine, too.

I want to see if you get that anime reference. :P

I would love Morrigan to return as some type of plot event. She and Flemeth need to duke it out one final time. I don't feel like her storyline is ended yet. Will Flemeth be successful in taking over her body? I hope not since my warden would probably cleave her. He's a bit possessive of Morrigan.

I want to replay the first two games but couldn't since Kaidan friendzones me until the third game. Whatever happens with ME4, they should implement the M/M romance from the very beginning. I don't want my PC to be forever alone. :crying:

I love Joker, he's always there for me. I would have gladly traded Steve and Vega, so I can romance him. My male Shep is a tough SOB, so it would have been a very sweet romance if he has someone like Joker he could protect. <3

LOL I don't! A lot of anime have cats... my favorite is Nyanko-sensei from Natsume Yuujinchou :)

Yeah I think my Shep would have done better with Joker, too; sure, there's the protective vibe, since Joker's dealing with his illness and is voiced by Seth Green, who has a very teenager-y and vulnerable kind of cracking voice. But also it was just clearer to me that Joker and Shepard had been together the longest, and I felt like they had this realy tight, amazing bond. Romance would have just made it even tighter and more meaningful to me.

As it is, Kaiden was certainly a fantastic character, and ME3 one of the best games I've ever played, but the relationship was sort of... well, it took a back seat to all that.

UNLIKE DA2; there I felt like my Hawke's relationship with Fenris was what carried the story, probably because it was just such  more personal story; it was Hawke's story, whereas ME3 felt to me like a story about the entire universe.

I hope DA3 continue that feel, of just one guy or girl and everything that happens around him/her. The LI will seem more important that way... maybe it's why only Alistair has felt like a meaningful LI to me in DA:O; Zevran is a fantastic character, but I felt like his romance to the Warden was a secondary thing. Unfortunately, since the game itself didn't really blow me away, that's probably why DA:O is my least liked of the three.

So fo DA3, let's have the romance of DA2 + the storytelling of ME3! <--- That's oversimplying things, I know.

Could be any number of things. I think most of the people in that thread are women though (right?) ... it just depends on who is active in a thread. Some people are more active than others. You and I are pretty active people, so it keeps this thread alive. But that thread just has more active people perhaps.

Pretty much. I don't post a lot here because, since we know next to nothing about DA III and its companions, there isn't much I can say.

Well, I think one of the main reasons is that they have a bigger fanbase which include bi and lesbian women as well as straight men. Straight men for the most parts are the biggest consumers of video games afterall. I would be fun to have more people visiting this thread, but with so limited information, I'm not surprise at the slow traffic. I think it will pick up once they announce the M/M LIs (Preferrably Cullen).

lol at this becoming another ME thread.

I just don't want another crazy bi male elf. Is that too much to ask? All I can hope for is a relatively sane and masculine M/M partner who doesn't have too much baggage (I still love you though, Anders).

Yeah, I totally agree with you for this. For Me Manly Man is always better than Girly Man.

And for the Shape, Zevran Ander and Fenris just thinner than I want. relate to ME Kaidan&Cortez body is great but Jame is too musle. (but If The Muscle Man in DAIII have good face, voice, story and Attitude, then I'm OK with his big Muscle.

:P

I'm not a big fan of muscle men. I prefer toned body or slightly big. I guess that would be the preference for a lot of people as well. As for attitude, I like Fenris' attitude, but he has too much tsun tsun and not enough dere dere. Maybe a character who is a jerk but very nice when it comes to the PC. I also want an overprotective LI as well. It would be nice if it's a knight who profess his undying love toward you.

Even though I have my elf fetish (caveat: it is not actually a fetish; I have jus loved elves since I was a wee lass lol and really, I would rather BE and elf than PLAY one, but ah well), I know I will be content with whomever BW introduces as our LI's. Since we (probably) only get two, I hope they balance each other out, i.e. slender and bulky, snarky and sweet, damaged and happy-go-lucky, etc.

I wouldn't mind elves if they're actually good looking. Elven males in general are too skinny. It would be nice if there are buffed elves out there as well. I agree, for the 2 LIs that we have, if it would be nice if they're totally different. If they're too similar, there is no real incentive to romance more than one for me, personally. I hope the LIs would be more about the PCs. It's not very romantic if the conversation you have with them is about how much mages or templars suck.

A new character, somewhere in the realms of Alistair/Kaidan/Atton. I can't decide which, at the moment I'm thinking Kaidan, though that might just be because it's the most recent romance I've played through and the only one that allowed me to do it as a male.

Then again, maybe I want all the male romances to just be annoying, boring slobs. That way I don't have to deal with pining over a fictional character.
