If Traynor isn't a romance, neither is Steve.

I try not to guess why some females play males and romance males, because they're the only ones who can tell you why. It's not my place to assume why they do that, and the same goes for men who play female characters and engage in S/S content.

Likewise, I don't feel comfortable stating that they all do it just because they think it's hot. It's both rude and ignorant.

How important is the love scene in the game? A lot of people like it, but some of the developers are against the idea of implementing it. I like the amount we have with Kaidan and Liara, so it would be nice to have something like that again.

Seems more ignorant about the topic than trollish to me, yeah. But what needs to be said about the "gay=effeminate" stereotype has already been said.

As far as the actual topic goes... I'd love to have a gruff warrior type. Someone who looks like the trailer Warden. Who has his dark sides and can be pretty cynical and snarky, but ultimately ends up being a good guy -- Anti Hero and Knight in Sour Armour, you know? And who really isn't romantic at all (no giving you roses or telling you he can't be without you or anything), but whose understated signs of affection are all the more powerful for it. Someone who never outright says I love you or anything that could be taken like that, but you still just *know* he does, and you *know* he'd go to hell and back for you. Yeah.

...I may have a thing for characters like that. And really want to romance one. (Or play one. Or both.)

This. This one thousand times. Make him a dwarf too. Leske would've been perfect if he hadn't been so...loose in his alliances.

It's important, but I start to feel silly, watching pixels go at it. I know; I'm ridiculous. I feel silly watching actors go at it in a movie, too. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I know they're pretending to be someone else, and they don't really care for one another, so it's all one big goofy farce lol Who knows. That said, I love to read a good love scene in a novel or comic.

I would say the build up before and after the actual sex is what's most important.

Like I always said, I enjoy the romantic aspect of it. I'm not neccessarily need to see what's going behind people's door, but I like the idea of a love scene. I would be turn-off if there's penetration involved, so I don't think that it's about nudity and sex at all. It's hard to convey your feeling to the devs about this if they look at you as pervs for wanting the love scene. lol

I like how my M!Shep and Kaidan embrace in ME3. I think that's enough to make me swoon and smile. I'm usually a  romanticist, so it makes me warm and fuzzy to see love. For me, it's like going to see a romantic comedy. The love scene for me is similar to the part where the two character are finally together in a movie. It's the climax of the story.

I usually play a women because I dislike the stereotype of a male hero, I'm highly allergic to cliches. Also because I find badass/powerful women attractive. Also because Bioware's male protag's have AWFUL VA.

That being said I've always wanted to do a MHawke rivalmance with Fenris...

Well, my phone refuses to let me use the quote function, so, uh, can we just pretend I did that, Battlebloodmage?

In any case, I generally despise the baby making role, (it's why, even if did like Alistair, I couldn't do the mistress ending. I'd feel bad for his future wife.) but I don't mind with Morrigan, because Morrigan *doesn't* submit. If she didn't want the OGB, there's no way the Warden could talk her into it. If she'd be any more assertive, she'd have to force herself onto him/Loghain/Alistair. She's also always in my party, so rather than staying "home" and popping out babies, she kicks ass andis as much responsible for stopping the Blight as the Warden.

And Anora is awesome. She always gets the throne in my games and even if she marries one of.my Couslands, she stays in control.

While I do get the feeling that women are more comfortable playing men than the other way around, I hesitate to asign reasons to that -- I mean, I wouldn't know, being trans. My characters are nearly always bi/pan. I'm as well, though, so how that fits into your theory I'm not sure.

On another note, my brother made a fem!Hawke with the reasoning of wanting to do something different since he only sees me playing male!Hawke, and I was the one who convinced him to romance Isabela.

As far as making that character I suggested a dwarf goes, *yes* ! I like tall men, but we really need a dwarf LI.

While I tend to roll my eyes at the cliche of the straight, white, male hero, as a male, I feel more comfortable playing characters of the same sex. If there are gay romances, that just gives me more incentive to play through with the gender I identify with.

Though, that's not to say I don't sometimes play as a female character for a change-of-pace. I have a femHawke in DA2, and she and Merrill ended up being one of my favorite fictional couples of all time.

You'll love it. I thought it was great. So much tension.<3

How important is the love scene in the game? A lot of people like it, but some of the developers are against the idea of implementing it. I like the amount we have with Kaidan and Liara, so it would be nice to have something like that again.

I want Romance scene more than Sex scene. More feeling,Touching and Caring is make me more happy , smile and feel good.

But for the record, I like MShep+Kaidan sex scene. :o

Me, too. I like watching characters embrace. Nothing perverted though. Something that conveys their love. My favorite scene between Kaidan and Shepard is actually not the sex scene but the final goodbye scene in which M!Shepard tells an injured Kaidan that he loves him. The look on his face when Shepard walks away just melts me.

Yeah!! Same to Me,

For original ME3, My favorite scene is Old Final Good Bye. I lve the way Kaidan pull Shepard back and Kiss him in front of other people on the Filed that make me feel He love Shepard so much and doesn't care about people complain. :)

But when Extended Cut Release..New Final Good bye is completely win My Heart. Because when I finish ME3 for the first time I'm so disappoint and upset that My Main MaleSep and Kaidan don't have a chance to say LOVE. but Extended Cut is finally make my dream come true. :D

It's kinda annoyed me when someone stated one of the reasons why DA3 will not be good is everyone bisexual. It's as if romance will make or break the game. Some people don't even use that feature, and it's only matter if it's the only reason they play the game. It actually add replay value for me because I can choose to romance different characters on subsequent playthrough. Why would it limit the game?

I was really frustrated to find out Alistair was female romance only. I usually play male characters, being queer and trans, and usually gravitate toward male romances. Having an option blocked off was not fun, and for some reason it's much harder for me to play a female in DAO than it is in DA2. I'm not sure why, it just is, so romancing Alistair is going to be quite some time in the future for me until I can create a female character I can identify with, at least somewhat, and enjoy playing. I'd have liked the option to harden him so that he'd consider... experimenting. Something that could be quite specific rather than him starting out as bisexual from the get go. It could have been fascinating to watch him change and open up to possibilities.

But... it didn't happen and isn't an option unless I purchase the PC version and mod it. So, whatever, there's an option locked away from me.

When straight people come here and start whining about characters being bisexual because a bisexual character somehow is "different" than a straight one, even if they are romanced by the same exact straight PC played by the same person, well... Boohoo? The vast majority of society caters to you already, how does it effect your character to know, through metagaming, that it is possible to romance an NPC with a same gender character?

If I want to romance Alistair, I have to play a character I don't identify with or don't enjoy as much. Playing the character I enjoy means options are cut off from me. I admire that Bioware wants to step away from that constricting restriction and actually give me more options. So, randomstraightperson knows that the NPC is bisexual- in context of their character, and their game, and their playthrough, it will never even be an issue that is brought up, so how can they base their enjoyment of the game on whether or not I, or someone else, decides to form a gay romance with the NPC they want a straight romance with.

I mean, really. Really? I don't understand it. The flavor of the character stays the same. I got the Ander/Karl romance feeling from his first quest, and when it popped up in the dialogue with my male Hawke, it really made me actually feel included, in a way society generally does not like to do.

So, Bioware makes all the potential love interests open to both genders. Awesome, and I can't wait to see what they come up with again.

Are you on xbox or PS3? With a little save editing, you can romance Alistiar with a guy on xbox B)

PS3 version, which as far as I know can't be modded. I hadn't looked into it as modding had always been a PC thing to me. My canon warden had a massive crush on Alistair but fell for Zev, so all was not lost at least

They finally decide to add S/S romance in SWTOR. It's something after a year, but I don't know if I should bother with the game after they intentionally leave it out in the first place. It's only NPC flirts, but it was pretty discriminative to only have straight flirts in the first place, and now they finally decide to add gay flirts after a year with no companion romance. At least, Dragon Age 3 would have it since launch and wouldn't hold back contents in fear of backlash. :?

Glad to see the thread on the first page again.

Do you still like TOR as a game? If you do, then buying the expansion may be worthwhile. Myself, I just don't enjoy TOR anymore, so spending the money just so I can flirt with one or two male NPCs isn't particularly interesting to me. Besides, the back-and-forth between the dev team and the LGBT fans leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

I prefer to invest my money in DA, a franchise that I very much enjoy and trust will do a good job in portraying same sex relationships.

I boycotted the game. I originally wanted to buy the game because the concept of a story-driven game by Bioware sounds pretty awesome, but they then decide to leave out the s/s content because of controversy and just have straight content. The gay content wasn't there in the beta, so I'm pretty sure the excuse "wanting to do it right but wasn't able to" is a lame excuse. How can you say you don't have enough resources when straight males sometimes can have more than one choice for each class? Couldn't they have taken some of that resources and give s/s romance at least one option? How can they say they don't have enough resources when you can't even flirt as the s/s? It's just dialogue, and I'm sure they're not that expensive to give s/s fans flirt options even without romance in it. I'm pretty sure they have to use resources to have gender check in the game, so that the outcome of the conversation would be different for each gender. They could have taken some of that resources to implement the s/s content in the first place.

I agree with you though. The lack of response regarding s/s romance is what pisses me off. People have been asking for a year for at least some clarification, and they refuse to even acknowledge it. Out of a sudden, there are "gay flirt" in the new expansion. It's "pay-to-gay". You have to pay in order to participate in the s/s relationship. Bioware Austin doesn't give a damn about s/s fans, and they treat those fans like throwaway trash for over a year. I'm not sure if I should be in a game where I'm being treated as second-class citizen and only being looked at whenever it is convenient for them. It's hard to believe that a team like that is under the same roof as one who made Dragon Age. I have my qualms with ME, but they at least stop catering to straight male audience with straight and lesbian relationship and give us an actual M/M in the third game. If the fourth game only has straight relationship then I'm done with ME. There are only too much disappointments I can take. I would get upset when the possibility exists to flirt with females and not males. I would rather they have no romance than being excluded because I feel like I'm being left out of contents that I paid for just like everyone else.
