What do you mean by cheesy and not real?Rpgfantasyplayer wrote...
Make it real. Just because it is man on man or girl on girl, don't make it cheesy.

What I want is - if this particular male is bisexual, I want him to stay bisexual and be open about it for a male PC *and* for a female PC. I guess when a man, who has at least some traces of self-respect, engages in a deeper (romantic) relationship he's inclined to share this "little" part of himself with his lover.
Agree, a bisexual character should be actually bisexual and not Playersexual (ie. they show no interest in anyone but the PC regardless of whether you play a male or female).
If you're playing a female main character then you should know that this LI is also interested in men, not that he just happens to fancy the player character. As much of a sleeze that Zevran was in everything he did; I liked that he was so open about it who he fancied.

How can they do that without appearing as tacky though? I love that ME finally have a gay LI in the game, but Cortez keeps whining about his dead husband seems very apparent that he's supposed to be a gay LI. I'm not a big fan of crying constantly either. Characters like Isabela and Zevran are not a good representation of bisexuals though, they're so promiscuous. It's like reinforcing a stereotype that many people believe.Zkyire wrote...

Well there is a middle ground. The character could simply make a passing comment about X thing they did/X NPC they see, without having to go all Zevran about it.Battlebloodmage wrote...

There's nothing tacky about mentioning one's own sexual orientation and discussing adjacent topics: important relationships from the past, a handsome guy that passes by etc.

Kaidan's bisexual was discussed in a subtle manner like admiring Jacob's prize or EDI's body. It doesn't need to be mentioned over and over again. I could do without Cortez's crying over his husband. I feel like a substitute. I actually don't mind if the LI notices how handsome other passing NPCs are since their sexuality wouldn't be confined by the player.Provi-dance wrote...

Like I liked knowing that Karl was Anders' lover and think he should have told FemHawke the same thing he told BroHawke. Not because it was revealing something about his sexuality (FemHawke shouldn't care about that, the nosy cow) but because Karl being his former lover is kind of a big deal ... whether Karl is a boy or a girl though is irrelevant.
However, I can understand that if a player were bisexual that it would be important to see self-identified bisexual characters in a video game.
p.s. How is having an elf as a LI a stereotype o.O Are humans and dwarfs also stereotypes? Okay we've had Anders and Kaiden as M/M LI, so I guess having a human LI is now a stereotype o.O

Cortez is not human? I have my suspicions, but now it is confirmed.motomotogirl wrote...
I prefer LIs who are player-sexual partly because I don't see sexuality as part of a person's identity (where a particular "identity" refers to a particular "role" one plays in society) but more as a mere fact of biology. So it's really unimportant.

Personally, I would prefer that the character is player-sexual as well since I would like for them to love the player 100% instead of looking around for a booty call.
For bisexual characters, I really want them to differentiate between males and females. Most of the comments from the bisexual characters are pretty gender neutral in Bioware games.

Ahahaha poor Cortez!!
STEEEEEEEVE! I love Steve. But yeah, the dead husband. I couldn't do it. I felt like a homewrecker.
And Kaiden has those eyebrows. And that disapproving tone of voice. OMNOMNOM.

Cortez is totally not my type since I like strong but sensitive guys (Kaidan, anyone?) while Cortez seems too weak and dependant. That's why I usually just romance Kaidan in every of my playthrough. I love Steve but as a friend. He seems to be pretty chills to hang out with.motomotogirl wrote...

Ahahaha poor Cortez!!But I was giving examples of bisexual characters, and Cortez is gay. I mean, he's definitely GAY. He has no interest in FemShep. And I'm assuming it's not because she's smells under her armor or anything.

That's why Cullen is a must for DA3. We need more senstive guys in DA universe without the terrorist mentality.
