Does Serendipity count?

(The "female" elf that talks with a male voice at the Blooming Rose and at the party in Orlais as Senechal Bran's escort. We learn the name is Serendipity from Bran. I still say it was a bug that they decided to make canon in MotA, but meh.)

EDIT: And no. I don't want that romance, but if it's available, my completionist neuroses will compel me to play it at least once.

Other than that, a scruffy warrior type. Some sarcasm and jokes would be nice, especially if he initiated some of the romantic stuff without being too much like Anders. With an interesting background, but nothing too melodramatic.

It would be interesting to see a male LI who's more stoic and cool. Fenris seemed stoic on occasion, but he was more surly, and had quite the temper. Zevran was also somewhat stoic (in that he didn't let his emotions through often), but he was also quite bubbly.

I'm thinking a personality more like Sten or Morrigan (but without the For The Evulz attitude), with an acerbic wit too. Especially with the new kossith deisgn, tbh.

They could make every romancible character bi again but I don't think that sort of thing didn't work with every character. I would rather them make exclusive gay romance options like they did in mass effect 3.

I prefer LIs who are player-sexual partly because I don't see sexuality as part of a person's identity (where a particular "identity" refers to a particular "role" one plays in society) but more as a mere fact of biology. So it's really unimportant.

Like I liked knowing that Karl was Anders' lover and think he should have told FemHawke the same thing he told BroHawke. Not because it was revealing something about his sexuality (FemHawke shouldn't care about that, the nosy cow) but because Karl being his former lover is kind of a big deal ... whether Karl is a boy or a girl though is irrelevant.

However, I can understand that if a player were bisexual that it would be important to see self-identified bisexual characters in a video game.

p.s. How is having an elf as a LI a stereotype o.O Are humans and dwarfs also stereotypes? Okay we've had Anders and Kaiden as M/M LI, so I guess having a human LI is now a stereotype o.O

I'm just praying that after the drama with DA2 and ME3 inclusiveness (and SWTOR's lack of it) that they don't give up on same gender romances in DA3.

And while I loved, Fenris, I'm hoping for an Alistair type character. Super normal, funny, and like... inexperienced lol. I loved his conversations about not being experienced. In DAO Zevran was like "hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but..."

Kaidan in ME3 was probably my favorite Bioware M/M romance thus far.

I wouldn't worry about that. In fact, I'm more worried about them trying to cater to everyone by making all characters PC-sexual which I wasn't a fan of -at all- in DA2.

But for me, my perfect male partner would be an altruistic or effervescent guy who's very community and group focused and actually not very interested in romance til he meets the PC and learns to become more intimate.

I love Carver in DA2. I don't know if I want to romance him since I feel a family connection to him while roleplaying. I would mind a strong, hot-headed guy like Carver in DA3 though. I want strong, warrior-type human. I'm looking at you Cullen.

Someone who is NOT competing with Angel in the Fictional Character Brood-Off, please. Just a guy who is moderately adjusted (because if he's completely well-adjusted fandom calls him boring), who happens to like men. I'd like him to have shorter hair, too, though that's a personal aesthetic thing - I don't like ponytails or shoulder-length styles and I want to clearly see eyes.

I like the player-sexual angle, definitely over Zevran's 'given my druthers, I prefer women,' but I think that if, like with Anders, they had a significant relationship with someone of either gender in the past, it should be referenced regardless. I know it's not the intention, but Anders not acknowledging his relationship with Karl with a fem!Hawke is invalidating that relationship, that it meant less to him now that he was with a woman than it does when he's with a man.

Like I said, I want a grizzled, snarky-ass warrior that can cut through entire armies like a lightsaber through steel. I want a badass. Also, not every gay or bi guy needs some obscure dark backstory that's supposed to make us feel bad about them, much less one that explains their preferences. Really, if I could have an Alistar with more testosterone, I'd be happy.

Edit: better yet, give me a fantasy Wrex. That would be awesome.

I'll throw in another vote for Cullen, theres just something about that voice, and the hair!
Whilst I would persoanlly prefer the macho soldier type, emo elves just don't do it for me, sorry! I do think there should be a variety of M/M LI. I don't see any reason why we couldn't have a Strong, macho soldier guy and someone who is more of a "pretty boy". Variety is the spice of life they say.

Someone like Kaidan from ME3 (but not Kaidan) would be my ideal character to have. Kaidan is by far my favourite M/M romance from any game.

So....thoughts?

Late to the party, but I want to add that I would love a more grizzled M/M love interest! The last m/m choices have seem a bit... metrosexual/clean cut/not really the gruff kind of guy?

Edit: Then again I would love a more grizzled guy for M/F as well, and a more stern warrior kind of girl for F/F...

I dunno if I would be able to break my 2/2 for ending up loving my male elves best but if Cole is a "choose your fave sexuality" LI in game he might give an elven companion a run for his money.
