Depends on two things and that depends on what the game looks like and if the info given sounds good. And how good the pre order bonus is

It depends a lot on the infromation we will get before the games release but at the moment leaning towards a no. Will wait and read the reviews that will come out.

At the moment I am leaning towards a no on pre-ordering and a wait a few weeks for the price to drop.

This could change if Bioware will release info on what Origins features they are going to bring back, but if they keep bringing back all the DA2 features then it will probably go to a no buy for me.

Also depends on the pre-order benifits, if i see any bullcrap about collecters edition only DLC then you can keep your game and use it as a supository bioware; half the reason i didn't bother with ME3 was cause of that crap

Welp, then you might as well just stop teasing yourself now. DA3, you can bet, WILL have in-game bonuses that are free for pre-orders, but will be available later on as paid DLC. That's the way it works. Period. Accept it, and move on.

I don't usually pre order anything, so as of now, no. If I like what I see/hear though, I probably will.

Nope... ME3 was the last straw. No pre-orders from me.

This.

Next time I'm waiting for honest (fan) reviews before deciding on buying another BioWare game. I've learned my lesson with DA2 and ME3.

Edit: Unless they release a demo which looks really darn impressive, then I might still be persuaded.

I got burnt with preordering ME3 and DA2, so it's a no.

I will probably buy the game, but much later on. If I did this with DA2 and ME3, I coulda buy them a month after release at half price.

No such thing as a honest review, fan or otherwise. People will always be biased in some form.

"Ahhh DA3 sucks because there was only 12 sex scenes!"

"Omg DA3 was awesome, it had pink shoes!"

I'll pre-order. I've gotten so invested in the series, I want to play it on day one with bonuses.

Were this my product, the feedback I see in this thread would seriously worry me as to the validity of the product's direction.

And, no, I will not be preordering. The likelihood is I'll not even buy it since the basic premise (mage vs. templars) doesn't really interest me. There are other games slated for late 2012 and through 2013 that are more my style and time is limited.

I pre-ordered DA2 because of DA:O and ME3 because of ME2, and I don't think those games lived up to their predecessors, so I'm not just going to flat-out pre-order the second it's possible, I need to be convinced by information and game play trailers first.

It should've worded it better. I think there's plenty of honest reviews, although there are objective reviews. Every reviewer (fan or 'professional') is biased at some point. Either by personal preference or the implications of giving a much lower score (albeit honest) than the game deserves, no one is objective when reviewing.

I find that most player reviews are honest though, just incredibly biased. When it's not to their liking, it's usually a 0 - 2 (on metacritic at least) with fanboys giving the game 10s for no reason. It's difficult (if not downright impossible) to take either of those groups seriously. But I do see the point of your post :P

I'm just going to check the fan metacritic score, if it's higher than 5 (DA2 scored a 4,2 while ME3 scored a 4,4) then it's probably worth it to read some of the reviews and make a decision. And of course check these boards, although at the risk of being spoiled.

Only game i ever preorder was ME and this is cause of limited CE edition.
this trend of preordering games though is kinda stoopid. you can get the game later. it adds nothing to gaming. it is just a trick to create hype. So i will not preorder. I ll propably buy the game anyway. maybe Day 1.

Eh, I find that some of the useful reviews that I've read about books and movies have come from reviewers with whom I don't share tastes, but who are very descriptive in their reasoning.  So if people love or hate a game and share that it's because of the sex and the shoes that works for me as long as they're open about those being the reasons for their love/hate.  Honesty to me just means that they're open about their biases.

I'd hate to make a decision with only what little information we have now, but I'm leaning toward yes.

If there is truly a castle management system - then I'm leaning toward yes.

But there's entirely too little info.

my rational instinct is still to base that decision on the demo. i have no other way of knowing how much i'll enjoy the gameplay itself without it.

my more reactive side (and i tend to be a very reactionary person) says NO. but that's got more to do with the high probability of multiplayer than anything else we actually know for sure. b/c i freaking HATE multiplayer. i want to wait and see what people say about how mp will/won't impact the game before i touch it.

as far as other variables go, one playable race tips me more to the no pre-order side, even though that's a bit silly. not pre-ordering won't change the facts, after all. it's just the only way i have to use my money to pout.

but every time i look at castle, my instincts tell me to get a hold of that game as soon as they'll let me. i'm so in love with castle it's absurdly ridiculous.

all in all, still a draw for me.

No. Also if and when I will buy the game is still waiting for the player reviews. Later dates, possibly.

If Da2 had been really good, I'd pre-order. But honestly? I think I'd rather wait for the price to drop this time around (and may forgo it entirely if it gets bad reviews)

Before Mass Effect 3 it would have been a definite yes. But now? No. I'll give it some time and read some reviews, then wait for a price drop.
