I don't buy a car without test driving it either. That's because of better judgment making me act rational rather than emotional. Why would I do it any differently with games? Any game for that matter, not just bioware games. Not only that but after DA2 and ME3 they've given me plenty of reason to not put any trust in their pre release promises. I'd have to be nuts to pre order something from them now.
Perhaps if they release a demo and it's really good then I might be tempted to pre order it after all but I'm certainly not buying it blindly.

I pre-orded the Collectors Edition of the last Bioware game and got burned pretty badly, so no.

NO...... Most likely wont even buy it (maybe if its on sale & it doesn't suck). I've been burned enough already.

I expect so, yes.
Unless I see something I really don't like in the reveal or a script leak occurs and it's terri-bad, but it sounds like they're putting a lot of effort into DA3, so I think I'll like it.

Unless something absolutely horrid is revealed, my answer will be yes.

They'd pretty much have to shower me with gold to get me to pre-order.
I want to see in depth reviews from a source whose opinions tend to match my own on gaming, before I feel confident in a purchase.
I'm not going to jump on the Mass Effect 3 bashing bandwagon, only say that I pre-ordered it after watching a video review. The review came out before the game was released. Amongst the many things wrong with the review, that I didn't know were wrong until I'd actually played the game myself . . . was this lovely little lie, where the video review talks about the Trial at the beginning of Mass Effect 3. You know, the one that was supposed to be there - but wasn't. Yet they talk about it as if it were present in the game. It was like they hadn't played the game, or the reviewer was just reading off a write up of things they were supposed to say.
I'm not mentioning the reviewer in question, or who they worked for, purposefully because we don't need another one of those threads, save to say it was from a major publication in the gaming industry. I stopped paying attention to most reviews after that, and buckled down to only a few smaller review sources who don't get pre-release copies of games.
Basically I no longer feel like I can trust pre-release reviews, so I have absolutely nothing to base whether a pre-purchase/pre-order of a game is called for or not.
And that's a sad thing . . . because I honestly like some of the little pre-order rewards you get with some games (I got these great art books for the Persona 3 and 4 titles, for example, as someone with a big interest in art I LOVE these things). This isn't really an angry post, more disillusioned. I trust Bioware can make games I like, but what I used to base a pre-order off of is no longer there, and I'm not the sort to pre-order on blind faith.

Yes.
DA2 had some serious flaws, mainly repetitive combat and reusing areas, but I really enjoyed the story and characters. So, good/bad aspects in equal measure. Nothing that put me off pre-ordering though.

No. Thanks to DA2 and ME3 I'll sit on my money and see what comes out. + how other players rate it.

Not only will I pre-order, I'll keep the receipt under my pillow and kiss it each night before I go to sleep.

I'd have to play a demo first and see if I like it. I may also be convinced to pre-order it if the news, as it comes out, piques my interest and makes me insanely curious to see those things first-hand in the game. It would take a bit though, because the nearest gamestop from my house is 30 miles away.

II love how this keeps getting revived everytime it dies...
I will make a 3rd poll to when we actually get info about the game.
Glad to see the big difference between poll 1 and poll 2.

Yes. There are two developers I pre-order games from: Eidos and Bioware. They are in control of the best IPs in industry (Thief, Legacy of Kain, Hitman, Deus Ex, Dragon Age, Mass Effect) and I want to see continuation of those series and therefore I support them.

So I put up poll 2 results in the OP as well as a new poll to see how things changed over the long drought of information.

No, Bioware haven't delivered in recent memory but if its open world and combines DA:O elements with it, i'll pre-order in a heartbeat.

nope, dont get me wrong i'll get the game day 1 but in the days of digital downloads preorders are kind of pointless...unless it includes a Oghren plushie, then i'll preorder twice

Of course. It's Dragon Age and it has more potential than ever right now.
People often get down on BioWare these days and I even have myself over certain instances. But for better or worse, there is still nothing quite like their party-based role playing games and I still love them.

Technically, I don't mind if you wet your own bed. Tis your problem and/or delight and it isn't my busines to comment it. However, as fellow consumers it so happens we share the same bed on this. Inevitably some of the taint you leak spills to my side too..so I must care:l

If the collector's edition comes with any goodies then I'll pre-order it, because that's often the only way to insure you get it (by goodies I mean tangible things, like cool busts, action figures, and the like. Cool *STUFF* not just digital junk that will be available to everyone in a half a year). If not then I'll wait and get the standard edition a day or two later.
