This is not due to hate for the seires, but i simply feel like im not interested in the gameplay style of dragon age anymore and may even go as far as to say it feels out dated to me. Anybody else have thoughts to weigh in?

Then I found Mass Effect. Mass Effect played with my emotions more then Dragon Age did, so Mass Effect will forever be a favorite now.

After I finished Dragon Age Origins three years ago I came to the forums feeling successful that I beat the game. It was my first Bioware game so I was REALLY satisfied with how many choices you could make. I've never seen a game before that let you made so many choices that had impact.

Almost same story for me except I played Jade Empire before Dragon Age.

I would suggest trying another genre of games for a time. I personally favor Total War games for strategy, and for a sandboxy type of rpg Mount and Blade Warband is pretty good(the mods are amazing). If you want to try out an fps most of what's on the market is pretty similar to each other so you can't go wrong with a major brand name fps. Getting a fresh experience will help you enjoy DA more. Variety is the spice of life they say.

Mount and Blade was genius. It was an unoriginal idea, but it was the first game to make the idea come to life.Vandicus wrote...
You're experiencing burnout. Bioware doesn't exactly have a history of selling games with gameplay(combat or strategy) as its main focus, and you can only run through the same story so many times within a given time frame before it starts to become dull(all the plot twists are too fresh in your mind so it becomes repetitive).

However, I don't hate the second DA. If anything, I like it quite a bit... but the combat (Origins' slower gameplay was way better IMO), animations (stab someone with a normal dagger, whole body explodes... WTF?), repeated environments, and a few others just made the game unbereable for me.

Don't get your hopes up. I thought ME3's ending was gonna be the most badass thing to walk the universe.KnossosTNC wrote...
I can't imagine how I would feel if DA3 ends up disappointing me again and what that would do to my expectations for the series yet. It's just a complete blank. Right now DA3 is the present and future for me as far as the DA games go; this is Bioware's last chance to prove that at least part of them is still the same company that made the games (NWN and KOTOR) that brought me to them.
Never let your expectations get to high since you'll just end up being dissapointed.

Well, my expectations for the Mass Effect games have always been low anyway. Give me fun gunplay and a decent story and I'm happy. My expectations of the Dragon Age games, however, are much higher, and continue to be even after DA2.
Nope, no hope, just a mix of scepticism and ambivalence, and a sense that this is Bioware's last chance. What comes after that should Bioware disappoints me again, I really don't know.
