Dragon Age III needs a good plot

Dragon Age II you felt like you weren't making much of a difference because you were just an errand boy.
I'm not saying that Dragon Age III needs be about saving the world, but try and push for a bigger scale.

That's what I didn't like about Dragon Age II.blueumi wrote...
it needs to be less dark unless the gamer makes dark choice like dragon age 1 would let you be good or bad dragon age 2 was dark for the sake of it and would not let you save people
"YOUR BROTHER DIED FEEL BAD."
"HAHA NOW YOUR GRANDPA IS DEAD THIS HURTS YOU."
"NOW YOUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE FEEL BAD ALREADY!"
You don't need a lot of dark for it to be a good story.

I feel I should point out that Dragon Age identifies itself as a dark fantasy series.
Dragon Age Origins was a let down in that regards. They went with high fantasy instead of dark fantasy.
I feel the writing in DA2 to be more human, more personal, than the writing in DA:O. DA:O is a quest to fight evil to save the world, the world is a bunch of people who are only theoretical concepts to the player. The player does not have an intimate connection with anyone he/she tries to save. I don't really need another generic save the world game. Pokemon has that covered.
Think about it.
Plot:
Bad peoples are doing bad things.
Hero needs to save the world from apocalypse.
Hero succeeds and everyone is happy.
Now, am I describing DA:O's plot here, or am I describing Pokemon R/S, D/P, and B/W?
Trick question, the answer is all of the above.

Yes, let one side of the storyline feel like they're playing wrong rather than creating actual tough and morally ambiguous decisions.

It doesn't need to be save the world, but I want it to be on a bigger scale. Like Saving all of Orlais for example.

Actually...it was originally marketed as a gritty, morally gray series where good and evil are all in the eye of the beholder. Dragon Age: Origins exemplified that perfectly. You need look no further than the character of Loghain.
Compare that to DA2 where everything is black and white. Good and evil. Mage and Templar. Blood Magic bad, evil evil die. Dragon Age 2 is utterly morose, depressing, and nihilistic. I've never played a more nihistlic game in my life. No matter what you do, no matter how you approach it, hundreds if not thousands of people lie dead, most at your hand, and almost everyone you meet dies a gruesome horrific death. Nothing you do matters in the end. Your character is utterly inneffectual in everything he/she does. All while looking much more cartoony than the first game.
Dragon Age was never supposed to be "dark" in that sense.

I feel like any darkness in the tone should come around just because I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. Your cousin getting raped in the City Elf origin is dark, and they will never truly heal from the experience, but I was able to make the situation turn out a whole lot better than if I had been absent.
I want to be able to earn my happy ending, and that doesn't necessarily mean rainbows and starshine, or even that my character lives. My favorite ending in DAO was the Ultimate Sacrifice because I was able to preserve my ideals, even at the cost of my life (Later I chose Dark Ritual so I could play through the DLC, but that's beside the point).
Meaningful conflict is the soul of drama, and if nothing else, I want my DA3I character to feel like what I did mattered. That my sacrifices made the world a bit brighter for others, no matter how fleeting such happiness was.
Without Light, Darkness loses some of its meaning.

Do you realize what you just did? You just necro'd a two year old thread form when we 1, didn't call it Inquisition, and 2, didn't know anything about the game.

Yeah. Seems like he just hit the last page button on the forums and started replying to dead threads.

DA3 looks to be about the war between templars and the mages. So i am guessing it could get pretty epic.
I think it's about the giant green hole in the sky and all the demons and ****. The mage/templar war seems to be a backdrop, similar to how the civil war was another thing happening in DAO, but not the main threat.

Lloyd the bartender was way more usefull than Hawke, so the argument of plot is not THAT valid. The plot, by the way, was really bad, but if you like origin's one for some reason you like cliches or however they name it (at least that's in the POV of some BSN i preffer to reffer them as "the pest that DA2 brought here")
Hawke on the other hand should had tried baseball
