Clothing in the shower? That's considered "doing it right" these days? I must be out of the loop. If speaking strictly about Mass Effect, the first game "did it right".

Best avoid it, altogether.

(For those not playing ME3, there's a romantic option where you can encounter a character using your shower... while still in her undies. Then you join her, fully clothed. To which I say... um, wha???)
Not that I care about nudity, really, but would some strategically placed clouds of steam for that shower be THAT difficult? Honestly?

The traynor scene was hilariously awful. Honestly, I wish Bioware would move away from these terrible romances in general and focus on improving core aspects of the game. If they must continue though, either fade out or show actual nudity. Sex in underwear/clothing is just stupid.

It's a Bioware game... Character relationships are a core aspect, romantic or not.

Nudity is sometimes appropriate in storylines with adults in relationships. I personally think Bioware should take a lesson from CDPR in this aspect of game design (plus one or two others I might add).
Absolutely. How about having choices that actually matter at all? You know, kinda like TW2.

ME1 style scenes showing the romance scenes in fleeting detail are more than enough.

You see Ethan Mars' ass in Heavy Rain. No wang though. In Grand Theft Auto IV Lost and the Damned you see some twig and berries.

And third, how much of the drill is really 'insterted'? I find it likely that only the tip gets used, unless you have Britney Spears-sized cavities. But obviously, a fade-to-black screen cannot relay all that information, so I am left wondering.

But the Witcher 2 didn't pull it off without appearing like a childish wish-fulfillment of adolescent boys.
Really ? maybe in the US then...
As for nudity , why not ? why is it even a question ? Do we wonder if we should have blood on our blades when we slit some throat ? when why would she wonder if we have clothes or not in a romance scene ? If it makes sense to have nudity in a scene, then I'm all for it. Also people calling the witcher 2 porn are seriously conservative...

And when you make a sex scene, in a 18+ game, do it properly, not people showering in their underwear etc (LOL?!).

Look, we're not going to see wangs and meatflaps, even Witcher2 didn't dare. So this really turns the question to "Should thar be nipples on ta birds". And personally I think it's inconsequential, and if just by not showing a tiny bit of pink skin you get a jump in ratings, a bigger audience and less people screaming then it does seem to make sense.
Just don't have everyone wearing identical pants, plox

The Traynor example is a good one, don't have someone showering in their underwear, its illogical. If you don't want nudity don't have a shower like scene.

Agreed, the first Mass Effect was great. The "shower with clothes on" scene was just silly, better with just fade to black.

Heavy Rain, GTA4, both had male nudity, not romantic in GTA4's case, but full frontal none the less. The only limitation is that you can't have a ready member, most polite way to say it, I guess, in an M rated game, just like R rated movies. So full frontal nudity is fine (and helps tell the story in a more visceral, impactful way) when used well, but genital nudity cannot be part of a love scene directly. No explicit sex or explicit sex readiness.
I have no problem with that minor restriction, because the only reason to do that is to amp up the eroticism, and DA is epic fantasy, not erotic fantasy. Graphic nudity is perfectly at home with what DA is, and is very helpful IMO, but graphic sexuality is not. Appropriate use of nudity is a major positive, but only in ways that further the scenes' intent in which it's used.

My take on this is quite simple, if this is a game for adults I have no problem with it. I'd say don't put it in for the sake of it, but don't leave it out for the sake of it
Exactly. Scenes in which it furthers the storytelling and emotional impact should feature nudity. If that scene is not important enough to treat honestly, then that scene shouldn't exist.
And fade to black is even worse. You get innuendo with nothing, no impact, no feeling whatsoever. There's no good point in alluding to an important scene if you're going to skimp out on actually having that important scene in your narrative. It's even worse than 'underwear sex'.

2. Don't put it in for the sake of it
3. Don't omit it for the same reason
