That's reasonable, and I agree with you. But surely you'd recognize that there's some hypocrisy in the argument being made (maybe not by you, but definitely by others) that the only mature way to portray sex is with nudity, when what they actually mean is female nudity, and a big ol' temper tantrum if they saw male nudity as well.

I don't give a damn either way, just people need to realise that shareholders only care about profit and catering to a demographic that pays more is the way to please the shareholders.

I could be completely wrong, but I don't think four short sex scenes, only two of which would be seen by the majority of that majority, would increase game sales by that much. Seems like a lot of people would just YouTube those scenes if they just wanted to get their jollies on. Anyone else would already be buying the game because they want to, you know, play the game.

that's just speculation, though.

I don't even know why this thread exists, there are more important things to talk about for the game; personally I think DA3 will be a flop and it will be the end of the saga.

I don't know why people find nudity cringeworthy. People get naked to have sex, not wear underwear through the whole process. Sexuality is sexual intercourse is an important part of being human. I don't know why its being thought of as cringeworthy. 

Yes I have watched soft porn, back when I was a horny young teen and porn was bought in stores. And the Witcher 2 sex scenes are no different. I don't need to see a full scene knowing that Geralt and Triss are humping, have 'em kiss undress until their naughty bits are almost exposed fade to black and then lie in bed afterwards with a blanket covering them and they can't talk about life and so on.

The whole "well we have sex naked" argument is silly. When we have sex it's a private thing and nothing something for the world to enjoy. I don't see the point of wasting time to pander to those that are obsessed about seeing ****** in game, when you can just do a simple fade to black and let people use their imagination. Hell, you can imagine the characters having the wildest kinkiest sex or just straight up and down missionary.

The only good reason not to include nudity during sex scenes is that it costs extra resources to make a nude model. Any other reasons such as 'sex is private' are just arbitrary and likely suggested due to American prudery.

However, since the characters are having sex I see it's only logical that they're naked while doing it.

Mass Effect 3 nudity with shadows and camera angles did that just fine, it was tasteful and we didn't have to see a soft porn scene. Not to mention it was short and we got a more intimate feeling of it as well as a post sex conversation.

From what I saw ME3 had two people rolling around in their underpants for a few seconds. If the LI was Liara she'd have no genitals nor nipples.

The idea of 'tasteful sex' has always confused me.

Is this something people do? I'm pretty sure I've never had 'tasteful-sex'. Personally I'd rather the DA setting to be as close to the real world as possible and thus for people just to have sex-sex.

You know what buddy, maybe you should go youtube the romance scene with Liara in ME 3. Cause here's the kicker, there's no front shot of Liara displaying the goods to give your post merit that Liara has no nipples. The only thing we see is a short sideboob shot as she's pressed up against Shepard. And last I checked women don't have their nipples on the side of their breasts.

Liara's model doesn't have nipples because the ME team never planned on showing them. Liara herself may have nipples, the way Garrus may have a birthmark in his left butt cheek -- but the animators don't design things they don't intend to show.

Nobody was saying the character didn't have nipples. Only the model.

Nudity has its place and whether its in DA3 or not won't keep me from buying it. If we are to have LIs and sex is something that may happen then do it right, fully clothed or undergarment sex doesn't appeal to anyone nor make any sense. Nudity can be done with grace, Witcher 2 did it.

For me the difference is that combat is already an established pillar of gameplay. You kill bad guys (some players even choose to kill good guys. Some players argue on these forums for hours about which ones are the good guys and which ones are the bad guys).

Wanting more graphically detailed nudity and simulated sex is something people want to introduce to the series, and it's an icing-on-the-cake type of thing, not something that makes up the large bulk of content that combat does.

I see what you're saying, but to those kinds of complaints I think I'd have to answer with the same reply that the "more nudity" crowd often hands me - "If you don't like it, don't play the game." Because it really is, and has always been, significantly about combat.

One more thing about the whole "If you don't want nude scenes you're a prude American". I made a poll with about 850 or so votes and people that voted FROM THIS FORUM, were split down the middle. Half wanting full front nudity shots, the other half not. So the accusation that only prude Americans don't want full front sex scenes is pointless.

Not to mention it's incredible judgemental, who knows maybe the so called prude Americans are the ones who crave the most extreme hardcore scenes from the game.

You realise if there were to have sex in the camp, they would A, have to actually leave the camp cause people would be able to hear and see their shadows through the tent, B be aware of all the wild life and the Darkspawns, which would probably result in finding the nearest bush, pull the pants down so it's just above the knees and have a quickie and return before anyone noticed.
